I am currently a student at a local community college. I am just about ready (within 6 months, it goes fast, trust me) to prepare to transfer to a 4 year university. I am no super duper genious nor am I a dumb ass. My averge g.p.a is about, well I maintain about somewhere between a 3.3 and 3.7 g.p.a. You know A's and B's not really C's and stuff. Now I have my heart set on going to CalTech (really good school), but it's tough to get in there. So if I don't (being real) get in, I need schools to look at to fall back on. Now, I am currently accepted to Drexel because of a situation with my current school w/ scholarships. However, I have been here in Philadelphia all of my life and I need a break from it. Now I may not get to where I want to go so I always have Drexel to fall back on. What I need is for y'all to help me with, is to find good engineering schools, with great reputations to apply to. Don't be shy, let me know. Thanks all.

I say go to Northeastern University, Boston University or Boston College. They're all in Boston and Boston's pretty much a college town. Lots of women, lots of parties, you'll love it. I've been to Boston University and some random girl just started hitting on me on the train and I was like wow, this is great. lol. And Fenway Park is like next door. Best place to be imo.

I went to Rutgers... Not very difficult, but the reputation outside of NJ is PHENOMINAL. I was at my cousin's wedding in AZ, and I was talking to some relative of the groom... He was a Harvard grad, and he said something along the lines of "well, I came from Harvard, so being from Rutgers, you know how that is..."
In NJ, Rutgers isn't really thought of as being all that great. Outside of NJ, the farther you go, the more people see it as being on-par with Harvard, Yale, etc... the Ivy League (Rutgers IS the "Public Ivy"...but all that stuff is only related to football anyway!
)
It's still close to home, but it's not "home". It may be a good option. It's not too expensive, and depending on what you want to study, it's a good school. Of course, Camden County College was more of a challenge for me than Rutgers...
CCC is one of the best community colleges in the country though.

There's also RPI which is in up state New York.... I have a friend that goes there. If you interested in girls its not the place to go. The guy to girl ration is like 7:2.
Then theres WPI Worcest Polytechnical Institute. Thats located right next to Northeastern.
From what I hear Roger Williams University has a decent engineering program. I go there now but for law. Its a nice campus.
Hope this helps and good luck

University of Texas at Tyler. Great engineering program, and pretty damn cheap too. Just got a brand new engineering building that is filled with state of the art technology. If you're looking for Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical it's a damn good school for it. The girls aren't bad either. Plus, we know how to throw really damn good parties.Always remember that only you can make your dreams a reality.

ill be graduating from Penn State in few weeks. I think its an awsome school, often referred to as the ivy league of public universities. Its well known around the world and being able to network with alumns is key in future job search. also tons of on campus resources. They own the local PBS station where i was able to get a job (not just an internship) get paid for it and gain experience while still in school. From what i know they have a very strong engeneering program too. Im very glad i made the decision to come to PSU. State College is a great town with 40,000 thousand student (thats more students than actual town residents) plenty of hot ladies, places to eat and bars. Football games are one of a kind with 108,000 screaming fans at the Beaver Stadium. Plus its only a 3 hour drive (im from Philly too)Last edited by cb7wagonPL; 05-04-2007, 08:17 AM.The CB9 has been reborn into a CB3

i also forgot to say that umr doesnt really bother with a lot of prereqs. maybe 1 year of shit like history and macroeconomics, but after that it is all engineering.Last edited by steelbluesleepR; 05-04-2007, 04:04 PM.
