    AAA or something similar?

Now that I'm up to nearly 200K, and driving the car a lot more than I have in the past couple of years, I'm starting to get a little bit nervous while driving. Most of my driving is on the highway, and while I'm not racing, I'm not driving 45mph in the right lane either.

I'm thinking that for $45, it makes sense to sign up for AAA for a year, in case I break down and need a tow. My insurance doesn't cover towing, and if I'm on the highway, I could be looking at a ~$XXX tow bill, before repairs.

Does anyone have AAA, or something else similar that they'd recommend?

AAA Plus is awesome. i dont have it, but ive used a number of my friend's "free" tows and its saved me hundreds haha... is it really only $45 for the year? or is that for their basic thing, or the Plus? ive never researched the price, but if i could get 4 free tows a year for $45, im going to go sign up.

i have had the basic package which is 45 dollars a year here in california and like10-15 dollars for add ons ( wife, kids, etc.) but yea its a great thing to have the basic paclage comes with 4 free tows 7 miles free each and discounts to places. ive got the package above it since last year which still gives me 4 free tows but at 100 miles free each tow now and the price is not that much higher than the basic package...ive used up 3 tows last year...haha

the tows are not specific to one car, but its for the card holder, so if ur friend needs a tow u can hook him up as long as the card holder is present

I'm confused, are there two different levels of service - 'basic' with 4 free 7-mile tows, and 'plus' that includes 4 free 100 miles tows?
