That's pretty cool, and very similar to the tech used at The Beatles Revolution Lounge in Vegas. I wonder if the Lounge has Beta's of Surface running.

For its initial release it will only be sold commercially (hotels, restaurants, etc), with a price tag between $5,000 and $10,000. But microsoft has plans to release a much cheaper home edition within 3-5 years.

I saw something about these things on the local news earlier. There is a resturant here in KC somewhere that claims to be towards the top of the waiting list for these once they are made available.. They plan to use them to display their menu with pictures of everything offered and plan to have 3-6 of them depending on final costs.. Later

This is very interesting, but I doubt it would 'revolutionize' the computing world. Other than dragging and dropping photos and paying for bills ( I'm SURE that would work great) it would be pretty much pointless Just another pretty interface for Microsoft to come out with to cover up the fact that nothing is really changing that much

i dont think its so much that microsoft's surface itself will revolutionize the computing world, but more that its introducing the new concept of a multi-touch interface, and doing some cool things with it. this is a step in a very cool direction....

I can definitely see some awesome possibilities with this.

I will just have to figure out what to do when I get the blue screen of death.

                    LOL.

Microsoft on occasion, come up with technologies that could possibly be revolutionary. It's just most of the time, the execution of their design is somewhat rendered flawed in the 'real world'.

This is a very cool idea and it will be interesting to see how it will be put to use.

Now that is awesome. Linux kicks ass. When me and my roomie build our server for our place we're going to get by the end of this year we'll be running Linux on it.

This technology seems pretty cool. My only worry is how bad the first generation is going to bug. And how many after that with Microsoft.
