    Anyone got a crotch rocket?

Man I have always wanted a crotch rocket. I liked the r1, but that wil kill you. I love suzuki, but in end, my bike is the r6. no other bike seems to hit the spot like that one. I work with 2 guys who own bikes, and they rock..ya jsut gotta be responsible, and not do stupid stuff..That r6 is soo smooth, sleek, and light..yet fast enough for me. I only got one thing standing in the way..parents. No way in hell would they allow me to get a bik,e unless I moved out. The gf also dean't liek the idea, but will nto be totally mad for getting one..I jsut need a place and some money..does anyone else here have that same kinda passion for free, open air, and the danger of no-seatbelt or safety of fenders and such? Tell your stories, of what you ride, and how you got it..please..

In my opinion, the GSX-R 600 is a faster bike than the R6... My friends have these bikes and the gixxer is just more powerful. But I just used to ride my friend's bikes around.

I'm going to get my own once I get a job. I'm looking into a ZX-6R since it has the same output as the GSX-R 600 but lighter.

It's incredibly cheap to lease a bike but insurance will get you in the ass. Like when I went to a bike shop, we just needed like $700 down and it would've been $125/month.

Starting off with a 600cc bike is the best cuz they're still f*ckin' fast. I know some people who started off with R1's, GSX-R 1000's and the almighty Hayabusa and say it's extremely difficult to stay below the speed limit.

But nothing beats riding.... it's like a sense of freedom.

well see, i cant get one untill i move out, cause when my dad had his(which he has had many), he wrecked it, rain on a bike doesnt mix, so he knows how dangerous they are and he has way more experience than anyone ive really met/know that rides motorcycles, try getting gravel wire brushed out of your skin, YUM. so yeah im stuck there, if i where to get anything i would go for the Honda cbr900rr +, i use to ride dirt bikes all the time, and anything that is on 2 wheels, so i got some experience, wheelies are a must...but maybe later on down the line ill convence them to let me get one....but other than that, and till then im riding pocket bikes!..

lowoctane.. where in FL u from? Im in ft myers area.

anyways, ive been thinking of getting one after my h22 is done... i know it wont be fast enough for me. My friend who rides dirtbikes told me the best way to start would be get a dirtbike... learn to ride, and then you can also learn how to fall, and do stuff on a bike, that way when you get into an emergency situation, you know how to handle it. So I plan on getting a 250 or 450... just something cheap, but that i can learn on, then getting an actual street bike. Guessing that will be about a year from now, but I cant wait.

It's not the bike that'll kill ya, it's the driver and the other drivers not paying attention. I had a 94 Ninja ZX-7 RR (find one of those now) and now have a TL1000 torque monster.

For the insurance question, it just depends on whether the bike is on the notorious "black list" or not. Black listed bikes are considered high risks and a lot of companies will not insure them. I'm lucky, my TL was a black list but my insurance is only $40 a month for full coverage.

Here's mine, sweet and smooth.. just like I like stuff..lol. Seriously, I don't like loud looking bikes. But this is a monster with full race exhaust and laptop mapping via a PowerCommander. This is a V-Twin so it sounds like a Ducati.

i love the way bikes look, even like riding one, but that shits scary.110 in a car is completly different then 80 on a bike in my opinion. atleast if im in a car and i fuck up theres still a good chance of me living. i feel im way too young and wreckless to even think of owning a machine like that. maybe someday. but not now. btw if i were to buy a bike, it would be very similar to that black one.very sexy

                        thanks chessboxer..

that bike is a 98. the TL's are sure to be a classic, only made between 97-2001. The black wasn't offered as a color, so it's a little more rare. I got the bike back then because it was different. It was one of the first V-Twin superbikes to hit the market. I got a good deal cause this was a leftover. the styling, to me, still hasn't been surpassed. i almost sold it 2 years ago, now i'm glad i didn't.

the plate reads EVLTWN for Evil Twin. Even the R1 and 12R riders dig my bike.

I haven't gotten to ride much this year because of other projects.

                        Here's the specs:

                        HP Stock-106.2 Mine-119.9
Torque Stock-69.7 Mine-74.7 for all day wheelies
                        Dry Weight 442 lbs
                        QTR Mile- 10.5 @ 132.37 (Keep in mind I weigh 225)
Top Speed-I've had it to 160.

A lot of people throw off on this bike, most don't even know what it is. It's all a matter of presence.. and when I pull in, I make a presence. My bike sets off car alarms..hahaha.

OH, I'm thinking of painting the wheels gunmetal.. what do you guys think?
