Yeah, this is a repost but it's a really interesting design and, like usual, Honda is coming up with all new ideas and technology to be on top of the game. I think it will end up being successful for the most part. It's a small jet so it may won't be huge commercially probably but it'll sell.

The commericial applications may be limited.

But if there continues to be a growing demand for charter service by people fed up with traditional air carriers that could change.

They have already sold over 100, which is VERY GOOD for an aircraft that is not yet certified or available to own.

All in all, it could be a good start to a successful venture, as long as they implement a program of continuous improvement, and updates.

1) The engine configuration allows more cabin space because the structure to support the engines is not located in the fuselage.

2) There is less structure to support the engines, because they are mounted on the wing, which is already the strongest part of the airplane.

3) The fact that they are mounted on the wing and help relieve bending loads, also means that the wing can be lighter.

4) A lighter wing and less engine structure is good for payload.

5) Most aerodynamicists agreed that engines mounted on top of the wing, would result in more drag than engines mounted on the tail.

Honda has just proved them all wrong.

6) The HF118 engine on this airplane is 20% more fuel efficient than any engine producing similar thrust, and it has better emmissions performance.

7) That means more range on the same fuel, or the same range on less fuel.

8) It will cruise around 420-450 MPH which will make it among the faster jets in the light bizjet category, and it will have a non-stop range of between 1,000-1,200 miles, which is also decent for that category.

9) The airframe is all composite materials, which makes it lighter, roomier, and more efficient.

So it is fundamentally a Honda.

More room, lighter, faster, more fuel efficient, and better emmissions.
