    Japanese ska... my yearly thread

I do believe I make at least one thread a year about Japanese ska. So far, nobody ever has any bands to add to my list! Hell, anyone younger than 23 these days doesn't even know what the hell ska is!

Anyway, I want to see if there are any J-ska fans out there besides me. So far, the bands I listen to regularly are:

    Potshot
    Kemuri
    Yum Yum Orange
    Snail Ramp
    Ore

That's about all I can find! I have a couple good compilations: Skankin in the pit, Land of the Rising Ska, and one other that I can't remember (I only listen to those first two, really)

So, does anyone know the bands I like, or know of any others in the same feel (mostly 3rd wave punky stuff). No Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra or anything... I like the newer, punk influenced stuff

I am 17 and know what ska is. To me the brassy sound sits right into SoCal, specifically Orange County. Great stuff to listen to cruising around on a sunny day. However, I know nothing of Japanese ska.

Time to listen to some Reel Big Fish.

Cool, thanks Mark! I know I can always count on you when I post these threads
        Checking it out now

I keep forgetting RBF is starting to make a comeback... They were one of the too-trendy bands in my day! It's good that someone younger knows and appreciates them, Gary!

jpop is often TOO stickysweet for me. I'm sure I'm missing some of the good stuff though. Yum Yum Orange has a very upbeat female singer, so they're quite poppy.
