Ok So there is this girl that works with my sister at Michaels crafts store, she is my age and one day as i was visiting my sister at work She walks out from the frame shop area and come to find out my roomate that was with my at the time knows her from way back. I thought at the time that she was pretty much goning to need to be asked out on a date, my parents met her when dropping off my sister, and on their own said that she would be good for me to think about. So I was thinking of asking her out and I told my roomate in passing out about and he freaked out about it saying that I better not and That I would not stand a chance. This dude has been my friend for 3 years and we are roomates, he has a girlfirend so no issues there, but what gets me is that he told me also that It would make him uncomfortable, but yet being "old Friends" he doesn't have her # and doesn't hang out with her EVER! So I'm not seeing the issue, or why he is being such a dick about the whole thing. Let me know your opinon on this matter please. Should I say screw the douche bag and go after the girl that seem pretty perfect or respect him and not ask out some one he has known but does not contact?

Sounds to me that he has some unresolved feelings for that girl...
Regardless, I say you should ask her out. Tell your roommate that you will treat his old friend with respect, and follow through with that... but if there's a chance that you two will be good for each other, why should you stay away?
If it was an ex-girlfriend of his, or if they had major problems between them... THEN maybe I could understand. However, from the way you tell it, it sounds like he's just insecure... maybe a bit jealous. If you DO manage to get her to go out with you, it might drive him nuts.
Plus, if you "don't stand a chance" what harm is there in asking anyway?
If that's true, then the whole thing is a moot point!
