It's a fairly complicated format, sadly. I was on there today.

There are a lot of really great people, a lot of really tight-lipped smart people, and a whole lot of newbies bumping into each other. It's not as cohesive as cb7tuner. Still, it's an exhaustive resource. I managed to find most of what I wanted with a few minutes of searching... of course, most of that info was "h22s are way too hard to put in 3geez".

Sure... only one problem... your cd5 looks too much like a cb7

Kinda ironic... the owner doesn't even have a CD5 But the staff will!

But yeah, bb1tuner.com isn't necessarily out of the question. CA6tuner.com is my next plan, once CD5tuner is running strong. I'm sticking to Accords first, since they're what I know. Preludes are the next logical step. I MIGHT make a 3rd gen forum as well, since they're still fairly popular and potent tuner cars. I'll never be able to compete with 3geez, and I know that... but it'd be good just to round out the collection! I MIGHT make a 7th gen Accord site, and the 8th is still a way off... there just aren't enough people for the 8th, and maybe not even for the 7th, to have a tuner site dedicated to them.
nah dont build a 3rd gen forum... 3geez is whats up.. if it aint broke dont fix it!

You might want to re-think that.

Might as well get in early.

Very true. I don't plan on waiting until it blows up... but I'm going to concentrate on the ones that have a market right now.

It would be nearly as detrimental to start a forum too early, only to be labeled as "dead" by the time the scene kicks off. 6th is next, then I may go back down to 3rd... 3geez is strong, and I still don't think I can compete with their database (and I wouldn't try), but it would provide a forum with THIS feel, rather than theirs... which may appeal to people.

However, the 3rd, 4th, and now 5th generation Accords are very common "starting points" for people these days. They aren't destination cars for most. The tuner crowd for the older models will be young and temporary. The 6th gen (still has some longevity left) and up will be the ones the "serious" tuners will get into. By starting the 7th gen forums, I'll get the primocb7s and the accord sirs of that model... the guys that are willing to tune a car that they paid a lot of money for early in it's life. With the older ones, like this one, the only people that aren't already established elsewhere will be the $1500 beater tuners... only a handful of which will be truly serious. Not that I mind catering to the "I want to boost my rustbucket until it blows!" crowd...

I think my next car will have 8th gen written all over it.

P.S. The J35 seems to be underrated based on acceleration times.

The TL-S is rated closer to 300HP based on the WHP numbers I have seen, even though it is rated almost 15HP less.

But here is where it applies to the Accord. The coupe an the Type S are both similar in weight (within about 50 lbs) and the Accord runs almost identical trap speeds, despite having no LSD, worse tires (albeit bigger ones), and having lower compression while being tuned to run on 87.

So I think more like 280 is probably accurate, although that might be underrated. We will see as time goes on. Anyway, I digress.

I think the logical way to do things would be to add the 6th gen forums next. It is the best selling Accord ever, there are tons still on the road, they are coming down to an affordable tuner level, a lot of people like them, and it would give us a chance to add V6's to the mix at a fairly high ratio.

The downside is you have to compete with V6P, but there are some things about that site many people might not like.

The 3rd gen is sort of like the CB at this point. The ones that are left tuning them are the true enthusiasts for that car. So you could still have a very good resource, but the hustle and bustle will be less than the 6th gen.

7th and 8th will be awhile. I honestly don't know that a 7th gen forum would explode, because that is a large part of V6P, and many tuners are unwilling to even give the car a chance, even though until very recently it was the best stock Accord ever. A little ugly in some cases, but a great car.

The 8th might be a good one to get into, because on top of the fact it is a great car, the opinion on styling is overwhelmingly positive, especially among those who have seen it in person. That adds an important element to the equation for tuners. Perception.

Very true. I suppose I do have the "poor tuner" mindset, as I've never been anything else. There are plenty of people that have money that might be into their Accord... OR, they don't even have to be "tuners"... you don't need a loud exhaust and big flashy rims to be an enthusiast!

7th and 8th WILL come to exist. And as AccordTuner, AccordinglyDone, AccordRacing, and all the various other Accord sites have proven... there doesn't have to be just one!

3rd will probably just exist to round things out. I may do 1st and 2nd as well... though they're barely on the radar anymore (though a well done 2nd gen is a sight to behold... check out last month's AoM on 3geez.com to see a spectacular one!)

But yeah, as soon as CD5tuner.com is going strong and the staff has a hold on their positions (so far, the guys are doing a great job), CG6tuner.com will begin. Sadly, I don't have quite as strong of a resource for staff and members for that one!

Boy, do I wish I could say that. My poor Accord is sitting behind my parents' garage because I don't have room to store it where I'm at. I only have a couple complaints about the Cobalt (what is with the size of these dumb cupholders?), but everytime I end up sitting in my CB, I actually feel depressed. If I was able to keep it on the road along with my "Balt and my wife's Grand Cherokee, I would do it in a heartbeat.

True, but fair is fair. Besides, you need some type of sig over there, and you don't have a CD5, so....
