As cool as they sound, it would be difficult to organize such a massive meet.

Where would it be held, parking, police, traffic jams, last minute cancellations, stuck cars, etc.....

You get the picture. I am in no way shooting you down, I would love for this to happen.

With 15 year old cars, owned primarily by people under the age of 25, a national meet is unlikely. There was one meet in Nashville that drew people from as far as Michigan and Florida, but that was a pretty unique situation.


One thing I've considered was to try to organize multiple meets around the country (or world) on the same day. We could call each other, and all post pics at the same time. Not as good as actually being there, but it would be pretty cool nonetheless.

The idea has been around many times just in the time that I have been a member here and I know it was brought up before I ever found this site.

It is a really good idea, but like said above, there are way to many variables.

Regional meets are about as close to a national meet that could happen and have a good turn out IMO. I don't know of any members that would drive from one of the corners of the country, NW, NE, SW, SE, all the way to a central location..

I think it was Phempa that figured the center of the US a while back. It was somewhere in North Central Kansas. That is a good 4 hours from me and I am just in eastern Kansas.

For this to work you would have to find out where the demand is. For instance if there is more interest in Texas then there is in Minnesota, the "central" location would be a little farther south, if there was higher demand in California then Florida you would move it a little west.

Even after determining what "central" is, you have to find someone that is at least semi-local to that area AND willing to be a BIG part of the planning. You can't expect a bunch of people to drive hundred's if not thousand's of miles for a pooly put together meet.

It CAN happen. Depending on the date and distance, I would be willing to drive 5-7 hours for a GOOD sized (25+ CB's) meet. Every single person is going to have a different perception of what too far is. Later
