i keed, i keed....IMO they only look good on the grey Accords. Something about that black/grey offset. Not on red, not on white, green, gold, brown, silver...nothing.

Now if its a replacement and it hasnt been painted yet, its ok, but if theyre purposely seeking out DX bumpers, no....I think maybe its a weight thing...

Maybe ppl think that since the DX is so "plain" that the bumpers wont weigh anything....theyd be wrong cuz your DX bumper weighs about as much as my EX one, but ok.

I actually rocked black bumpers on my 92 EX coupe that was arcadia green about three years ago now. I didn't care to be honest. Paints so damn expensive.

he's saying they count as a body shape-altering appearance part. Just because it was stock on another car (dx) and you're putting it on another trim (EX) it doesn't mean you can say it's stock. If someone puts a legend lip on their car, is that stock? No. It's OEM.

oem bumpers dont change the body shape though, and a lip isnt a body kit either. everything has a name for a reason, a body kit is a body kit, a lip is a lip, and oem bumpers are oem bumpers

i have a dx with black bumpers...and yes it does IMO also looks like some kind of damage and look like im poor for paint..IMO it does..i hate it...i want one whole solid color...it looks *** with black bumpers...well not unless u also get a black or CF hood...i MIGHT look a little better. But im still gonna eventually paint it a solid color or custom 2 tone it (maybe not 2 tone) when i get more money..but if u can pull it off..show out some pics..

Anything to save a buck and make the cars a TINY bit cheaper then the LX.

Everyone has their own tastes of what they believe looks good and what doesnt. It is one of those things that someone that is not familiar with the CB chasis would immediatly assume that the DX has replacement bumpers and mirrors on it. I know I thought that when I was car shopping before I got involved in the CB7tuner community.

I have never understood this "trend" either Zach. I like the contrast on say a Pewter Gray CB (like yours), and the White CB's (like Ikayto's). I do not see the point of PURPOSLY changing to the black bumper just to imitate the look of a DX. The black bumpers and mirrors is something that is unique to the DX, on the exterior.

There is a BRIGHT RED CB on campus with black bumpers and mirrors. It is driven by one of the Art Professors, I believe. It has an EX badge on the rear end but it doesnt have power windows, moon roof, heater knobs, the usual features of a EX, LX or SE. It is in pretty rough shape so it may very well be something that has been rebuilt and whoever did the work either didnt care or just didnt pay that much attention to that one badge. I was going to ask the guy about it today but he is always on his cell phone. lol.

I didnt paint mine to look like a dx, by circumstance I had to go back to stock and black is the only nuetral color that would compliment my paint. Who gives a fuck, my car is hot with black bumpers hence the name Sexxi

I don't get putting a black bumper on an LX or EX with colourmatched bumpers.....but I do think that doing good things with what you've got should be applauded.

My buddy has a silver 92 DX with BBB and after we put an EX lip on the front and tinted the windows, I think it looks really sharp now. I actually dig the look even tho I've never (and likely never will) sport it myself. He can't justify spending more money to get a colourmatched bumper, so why not do nice things with the perfectly functional equipment you have?
