I agree with you larry, hate this place myself... my mom got pulled over a few months back for going 30 in a 25!!! She had to pay $426 so she could avoid points assholes

NY is still worst cause you get the points, pay the fine and surcharge plus if its over 6 points you pay a drivers assesment fee.

And i believe we get more points over here, i got pulled over recently doing 89 in a 50 and my lawyer told me its 8 points if i get convicted plus all the other bullshit fees, surchages, assesments, and whatever else they think about...

honeslty i dont think thats that bad.

I got a 90 in 65 in PA. I went to court and they lowered it to 80 in 65.

2 points and $150, plus skipping school ond driving out to bumble fuck like 2 hours away. I would much rather pay $270 and no points, to be honest.

Not doing 43mph over the limit is the best way I can think of to avoid getting any points or needing to make a court apperance..

I know here in Kansas, anything 20mph over the limit (on the ANY highway) the officer has the OPTION to tow and impound your vehicle for up to 7 days. If you are doing more then 10mph over the limit on a public street where the speed limit is 45mph or less the officer has the same option as above and you can be charged with reckless endangerment. You can NOT be arrested just for speeding alone but you can get slapped with a tow/impound fee and maybe a taxi fare if you can't find anyone to come pick you up. Construction and School Zones all fine are doubled in most states.

Any n00b will try to get you to believe that spending your hard earned money on some fancy radar detector is the way to go. However if you drive in a medium-large city chances are the agencies that patrol the area have already upgraded their speed monitoring technology to faster and less detectable methods.

The faster you are going the less time to react you are going to have when either you or your detector spot a patrol vehicle.

Any more there are 3 MAIN techniques that Police and Traffic Control Agencies use.

Radar: The most commonly used method of measuring the speed of other vehicles is Doppler Traffic Radar (Radio Detection And Ranging). Radar units used by PROPERLY TRAINED PERSONELL are capable of tracking the speed of vehicles while the Patrol Vehicle is in motion or stationary along the roadway. In addition, the radar unit is capable of measuring the speed of cars, trucks, and motorcycles traveling the same direction as the patrol car and those traveling in the opposite direction.

Time/Distance: Using stopwatches and VASCAR devices, members of Law Enforcement measure the time it takes a vehicle to travel a known distance (such as a marked 1/8-mile speed enforcement lane). Patrol aircraft also use this method to assist ground units in stopping speeding and aggressive drivers. The above mentioned markings are the white boxes or X's that you see on the Highways, usually this method is used more in generally rural areas.

LIDAR: The newest device used by Agencies to measure the speed of vehicles is Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR). LIDAR units give Patrol Officers the ability to pick individual violators out of traffic by directing an infrared, eye-safe, laser beam onto the individual vehicle. LIDAR units are especially useful in areas with congested traffic and in highway construction zones. LIDAR also uses instant on/off technology, meaning the unit's operator lines the vehicle in question up in the sight, pushes a button and before you or your detctor know it you have already been clocked and locked in. There is no standby time for the reading to register or for the use of the LIDAR to be detected..
