    I need beta testers.

Im doing a project for computer applications. Its a Yahtzee application for Windows. Im doing my own testing, and i have some known errors so far.

    Known Issues
    - Long and Short straight buttons dont do anything (I cant figure out how to program this without writing an if statement for every possibility.)
    - [possible] unregistered full house score when a pair is in the 1 and 2 slots, and a triplet in the 3 4 5 slots. I think I may have fixed this (it was a stupid mistake), but Im not totally sure. If you come across any other unregistering scores, letting me know exactly what position the dice were in (or as close as possible) would allow me to troubleshoot as easily as possible.
    - You cannot play more than 1 game so far, even though there are 3 slots for scores. This has everything to do with the Long and Short Straight buttons not working.

If you find anything else, I would really really appreciate it if you could tell me.

    The file is attatched.

Thank you SO much to anyone that helps me out. Ill update the file when I work out the long and short straight issues, and when that is done, it is, for all intents and purposes, a fully functional yahtzee game. I want to add a high score tracker, a few more graphics elements, and some other things, but that will only happen if I have time.

The full house button doesn't work either....

It says aces but I think you meant ones

and It says 100 points per additional yahtzee but when i got it and clicked on it it only gave me 50 points.

your lucky I would rather play yahtzee than study for my final

thats like, exactly what Im looking for. do you remember anything about what caused that?

the code for that button is like 1000+ lines, so really anything to narrow it down (even just the two numbers that you had) would help.

      thanks!

ok. I just tested the Full House things (I tried to test every situation, but not only am I sorta lazy, I also forgot to track it) and couldnt get it to fail. If anyone comes across it again, Id appreciate knowing the dice positions. The numbers are less important, but any piece of information helps.

Still no luck on the straights. Im going to have to ask one of my classmates for help.

EDIT: New, hopefully fixed, version up.

Latest version with working Straight code up. Its the 15.5kb file, if theres two showing.

Everything SHOULD work at the moment. Im hoping that I can play around with it and find some possible failures, because every time I show my teacher a finished program, a problem manifests itself, and I lose points.

The transition to game #2 from game #1 doesnt work. This is most likely because of the safeguard I put in place to make sure there was no accidental clicks.

              fixing now.

Mark, if you send me the code I can probably help you optimize it or make it less complex. From you description of the code, it sounds like there are probably a few tricks you can implement.

                  transition fixed.

Adding in color change for used slots, and will upload a new version.

                  EDIT: New version up.

oh god. its about as complex and redundant as possible.

its working though, and to be honest, thats all I need at the moment. I probably wont even look at it again after it gets graded.

I extracted the file and tried to play... but it won't open. I know I'm being a complete idiot right now but I don't really want to figure it out. What am I doing wrong?

I extract, and open. Then it fails to open.

hm. there shouldnt be anything else to do. its a complete program. It runs fine for me.

Someone else who was trying to open it using Wine was having the same problem too.

                        Thats really weird.

You dont have to worry about it as much right now. Im taking a break to just. . . not think about it, since Ive spent a large part of the last 2 days looking at Visual Studio, and would prefer to never look at it again, if at all possible.

Thanks alot though. I really appreciate it.
