Going to buy a Laptop Mobile Card... which one?

Ok so I've been looking over the laptop mobile connect cards from AT&T, Sprint, and Alltel.

I've settled on either AT&T or Sprint.

The Sprint card is 179, with a 50 dollar mail in rebate. The AT&T card is 149 with a hundred dollar mail in rebate. My main thing is that I want, and need FAST internet, because I want to cancel my DSL.

Anybody got any input on coverage, speed, etc.?

Oh yeah they're both 59 a month. Thanks for the input.

If this is for a home-based application only, stay away. The only advantages of phone service cards is absolute mobility for driving down the road and your passenger being able to get on the web or having an internet and cell phone bill in one. Even then that one is only advantageous if you don't have a cable bill already which could easily have internet tacked on to it. The transfer speeds just aren't that fast. Look to cable internet with a wireless router and a wireless adapter card. That's just my opinion.

Unplug your wireless router, if you have one. See if you can still get on using someone else's connection. If so, don't worry about it

Honestly, you probably can't go wrong with either, if you're determined to do that... they're all pretty much the same.

Sprint and Verizon are best for high speed data.

            What he said.

CDMA 3G is much faster and more reliable than the GSM data networks. If data is your need, go with CDMA. It's a no brainer.
