There will be a hybrid version of the CR-Z which should satisfy the mileage junkies.

I think there will also be an Si version, probably with a K20 and 6 speed manual.

The old CRX HF may have been efficient, but today's "efficient" cars will also hold up in a crash. The CRX was little more than a box with a motor and wheels. Safety standards have increased weight considerably on cars.

I have been considering an HF though. It'd be nice for work

Stop buying cars, lol. What would you do with 4 cars?

Hondas always had great crash results, especially when considering their size.

For instance, the last Gen Civic was safer in a rear end collision than a Suburban.

Total size has VERY little to do with actual safety.

The Smart car is an EXCELLENT example of this. Tiny tiny tiny car, but exceptional safety.

Interesting conversation here. As has been written, there's clearly a tradeoff in MPG and sportiness - I don't think you're likely to see a 50MPG car that a 12 second car, but you might see a 14 or 15 second version, and that's (relatively) quick. Also, I acknowledge that I posted this article in a 'tuner' forum, so the majority of people here aren't happy with MPG alone. However, just as in the late 70s I think you're going to see a return to high mileage, smaller vehicles on the road, as gas prices, which have stayed consistently high, start to eat into the wallets of drivers.

I thought it did have double wishbone, but the EP3's and DC5's had struts.
