Website development, Ideas...

Well I've owned several domain names for the last few years and today they came up for renewal. I trashed most of them since I really can't spend the money to renew all these domains I'm not using but I kept these two:

http://www.ricewars.com

Well what do you think I should develop them as? JDMVehicles was originally for a business I started with two friends importing JDM cars to the US market but that fizzeled out after our 4th car. So now I'm thinking of using it as like an informative site. Like documentation regarding various JDM vehicles.

Ricewars, I always wanted as a spoof to Star Wars with just stupid riced out cars from all over the country we could all just laugh at. But since I don't know dick about web design and don't have much time to learn it's stayed undeveloped.

Ideas, suggestions, critisms, and help are always welcome.

both of those sound pretty good, there isnt much information on jdm cars and the information that is out there is hard to find. also the rice wars would be pretty hilarious....how much do they cost/year?

$15 bucks and I've owned them for about four years.

well, i could see the jdmvehicles.com becoming an info site... about... of course, JDM. you could post up information about the origins of JDM (or when & how it became so coveted), JDM styling, JDM swaps, links to where to find JDM parts, real vs. fake JDM parts, JDM tuning companies (mines, mugen), galleries and information on JDM supercars (NSX-R, etc.) and JDM imports (accords, civics, etc)... you can probably think of some other good information.

the rice wars would just be another anti-rice website... there are plenty of those... and they are all funny... so, why not? lol it sounds like a good idea as well, but i'd pursue the jdmvehicles project before the ricewars.

Yeah that looks like the way I'm going with both sites. The JDMVehicles will deffinately be my focus. There's allot of information to compile though.

Any suggestions on how to design the site? At least get me going? I really have no web design skills and my photoshop skills are less then impressive. Plus every version of software I currently have is probably older then some members of the board, lol.

I need to at least start to shape the remediel site that will eventually be a bandwitdh hungry power house.

I'm going to be working this pretty much by myself and in my free time which is very limited having two kids and work. The Budget year just began Oct. 1st so I'll be pretty busy. Can't complain though I need the money

well... hearing what you have to work with for the site development... i would definitely choose a more simple layout... something that doesn't require expensive, pro software and awesome photoshop skill.

but since you do have photoshop, i'd work up a good main page layout with it. either that, or just revert to plain ol' HTML & Notepad, hehe... or Frontpage.

just make the site simple, practical, & clean... like most JDMVehicles
