    Any chances I could...

Negotiate someone on craigslist to pick up a cb7 on a payment plan. I don't have much money and my girl works 40 hours week, but gives half paycheck to her mom.

Do you guys think I will be able to neg something on craiglist for a cheap affordable car? Prefferably a cb sedan.

But I don't want to take the risk of scammers or no one wanting to do payment plan.

If you guys have more craigslist experience than me any advice and tip will help.

I'm sick of not having a car to drive and walking in this Jersey weather is harsh on the body.

well, most places that do payment plans have good lawyers in case they don't get their money...they also have extra cash to call on repo men to get the car back...very important step

    I dunno though really...no craig's experience

Craigslist is just a place where people sell things... like ebay, with no protection...

Where they sell has nothing to do with who they are or what they're willing to do. You'll have to go by a person to person basis.

Just save up the money dude if you dont got the cash dont even bother. If you try payment plans and do give this dude the money for a downpayment he can move away or take the money and sell the car to someone else make his money and take off. Dont be a fool comon now a cb7 doesnt hold its value like that out here in NYC they go for like what 800 or less now lol.

You can search by cars in your area that have been listed by a local dealer. They usually allow money down then weekly or monthly payments. If not, just take a Saturday and go around to dealerships. You're bound to find a few. The more cash you have on you, the cheaper you can usually get it for.

              Just an example:
I used to work at a used car lot. If we bought a car for $1000, we'd advertise it at $2500. Simply because we knew we'd be talked down a few hundred.

Never "settle" for a price until your completely satisfied with it.

How about getting something besides a CB? And get the CB when you do have the money saved up.

Yeah I was thinking of something cheap, but you know how girls are. They are picky and want something they can drive too. I'm keep looking around and see if I can neg some prices.

You can pick up a CB7 for less than $2K

Most around here around like $1300-$1500.
