    2000 Honda Accord EX-L with 130K for $5000?

I need some input on a 2000 Accord EX-L with 130K. First owner, blue with gray interior. Automatic, 4 cyclinder.

I have the VIN to check if the transmission was recalled. Owner had it dealer serviced. Carfax will be done.

Engine bay is clean and thee timing belt has been done. The owner may accept $4900.

What do you think? My concern is the mileage since I bought the cb7 at 90K.

    Thanks

The tranny recall I believe were only on the v6 models. The 4cyl were safe.

The 4 bangers have the same problem, it just takes longer to manifest due to the lower HP output. But it was much more common on the V6's.

              Yes, but this is minor.

The auto trannies are poorly designed. This is stopping me from buying the car. I am leaning towards a 5 speed now.

Honda should have used the 5th generation Accord auto transmissions on the 6th generation accords.

The car is in the local paper. I don't have any pics, but it is clean. Since it has 130K, it has not been sold yet. The price will drop to even $4800.

I contacted Honda and provided the VIN. The car was given the extended warranty for the transmission for 7 years/109K. They told me all 2000 Accords were affected with transmission defects and no way narrow down by VIN.

I will drive the car tommorrow and test the transmission.
