2014 SRT Viper TA Unofficially Priced at $116,000

The 2014 SRT Viper TA, which subtly made its debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show earlier this year will have an estimated price of around $116,000.

Though pricing has not been confirmed, the estimated price was revealed by a Chrysler insider to Edmunds. The 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack (TA) features upgrades and accessories based on feedback from professional road racers, with a mix of components from the GTS and SRT models. Additional changes include Brembo brakes, an aerodynamic package and modified suspension components.

Pricing is expected to be officially announced by the end of the month. Meanwhile, the 2014 SRT Viper will be priced from $103,990 including a $1,995 destination fee and $2,600 gas-guzzler tax. In addition, the 2014 Viper lineup will get new colors and a rain mode for increased traction on wet surfaces.

The 2014 SRT Viper TA is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine with 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque and production will be limited to just 33 units.

Riley Technologies to Debut Viper GT3-R in 2014

Expect to see more SRT Vipers hitting the track next race season, as Riley Technologies will debut its Viper GT3-R when the United SportsCar Racing (USCR) season opens in January 2014.

The team is currently preparing to compete in the GT Daytona Class with Ben Keating behind the wheel and road racing champion Jeroen Bleekemolen named primary co-driver. Closed, on-track testing begins in October for the new GT3-R race car with open testing starting a month later.

The Viper GT3-R is the first mass-produced, GT3-based car designed and manufactured in the U.S. It will be allowed to compete in the USCR, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), North American Road Racing Association (NARRA), Pirelli World Challenge GT Class and International GT3 Championships.

Keating, who was first in line to purchase a GT3-R from Riley Technologies, won the SRT Viper Cup championships in 2011 and 2012. Bleekemolen won the 12 Hours of Sebring earlier this year and was on the winning team for the past two years in the GT3 Class at the 24 Hours of Dubai. He was also the 2001 FIA GT1 co-champion driving a Viper
