What could it be? Some thing in the AC system? the antifreeze? a dead animal in the vents? PEOPLE HELP ME AND MOMS OUT! Like i said in a thread before, ya'll my second family. heeeeeeelp this smell is driving me nuts....

It's a Kia, so it must be a dead Korean in the engine bay.

That, or maybe one of the gerbils that makes the car go VROOM died

it could be mold and/or other stuff that has collected on the evaporater coil.

You can buy A/C deoderizer from the auto parts store. Its really easy to use and works well.

mold builds up that quick? I mean we've only had the car for a year...

Maybe some rats. This happened to my moms plymouth voyager, she had a rat in the fan and it was there dead for like a week( from the looks of it) and when she turned on the a/c all that funky smell came in.

Yes a couple months is all the mold needs to really build up.
The outside air intake for the vents is NOT filtered so leaves pine needles and all sorts of crap can get into the AC coil under the dash (ask me how I know ).
I've since put a filter used for home Air Conditioners to get the outside air filtered.
