Subaru Brat, such a beautiful old school truck but sadly its very rare nowadays

I found 3 on ebaymotors for sale a 1978 , and two late 80's models.










Thisguy managed to stick a flat 6 in his Brat.

And I qoute: 'This BRAT, owned by Michael Christie has received a transplant of a EJ series driveline. This allows the use of anything from a mild mannered EJ18 (1.8L) to a EJ20T (WRX engine) or even a fire breathing EJ25T.'







Imagine an intercooler stuffed into that truck, that would be the ultimate sleeper.

Subaru had some weird looking cars back in the days.
Never looked anything like their Japanese counterparts.
I always thought they were an Australian company.

i was thinking about buying one about 10 years ago for $300. i asked the guy, ''what was wrong with it......why was it so cheap''? he said , ''nothing....it's so ugly no one wants to buy it''. later.
