i have 10g's and i dont know what to do, first of all, what was the chasis code for the 92-95 hatchback civics? some are saying ek and some are saying eg, i think its eg though right? well anyways, i want to spend about only less than 2 g's on the civic, strip everything, and get a new motor, which would be best for boost? B16, B18, H22, or K20? and what kind of 1/4 times should i expect if i tune it properly and everything? if its not worth all the trouble ill just get an LS1 camaro ss, and save up for a build and a procharger. thanx

...You can do shit to make EG quick...Read up on HT. I would tell you the benefits of every setup but I am lazy when you can search on HT and get all your answers there.

My question is if your looking for big power why start out with a small displacement motor. Your not gonna be gettin a lot out of it. Sure yea its capable of pushing 500+ but its a torqueless wonder but pushing 500 you prob get like 300 or so lb/ft anyway depending on setup and tune. Another thing putting 500 whp for fwd vs rwd both are different stories. If you want 500 fwhp in an fwd good luck hooking up on street tires.

ive found a few maro ss's on craigslist for 10g's will spent 12g's if i have to, but the civics are way lighter, less than 2100lbs stock, and im going to be stripping everything if i go with the civic, but not with the maro, and it weighs about over 3300lbs i think? why is everybody saying the k20 is so great? j/w because id rather have a b series or h series, sorry for the run off with the questions, but is 2000 enough to build a B16? i mean all i need is rods, pistons, cams, maybe some valves/springs right?

lol have to go search what an eg6 is, im not even sure if the 92-95 hatch civics are eg's, hmm so 2g's on the car, 5-6g's on engine build/labor maybe, 2-3g's to be saved up for a nice turbo system :], how much do you think id have to spend to get about 500hp out of it? still not sure if its worth it, b16 or h22?

You're going to need more than 2-3 g's for a nice turbo setup. And if you're looking for 500hp then you must think of other things like brake upgrades and find a way to put that power down without much traction especially if your goal is to race a lot because you will be spinning the whole time down the track. I would say you can find a nice eg for 2g's, set aside at least 4g's for a nice turbo set up, that leaves approx 6's. If you go with an h22 you're going to need to resleeve the block, that is one disadvantage of the h22, a K20 swap would be really nice, also an ls/vtec is worth looking at because I believe its an excellent platform for boost. With 6g's left over there is plenty of money for internal motor work and with the left over look to upgrade your brakes, exhaust, axles and whatever might need doing. Good luck and have fun

H2B in H series = Kseries without the sixth gear.
