    5th gen help.

So I have a question. For people with 5th gen is the spring/shock setup in the v6 similar to the 4 banger or are they different? Also are there many people that make applications for it? The only company I could find was eibach If someone thats fluent in cd chassis car can help me it would be great.

    Thanks.

V6 is different.. no doubt about that... they look the same but the spring rate and all that bull is diff. suspension upgrades for the V6 is limited because the car itself is somewhat limited.. have you tried TAS yet ?? i know on ebay they got these mugen coilovers for a CD but now sure if they are for a V6.. anyways good luck on finding something.

Same exact thing. only variance is the chassis code.

                4cyl front shock P/N - 51605-SV4-A02
                4cyl front spring P/N - 51401-SM1-A31

                6cyl front shock P/N - 51605-SV7-A02
                6cyl front spring P/N - 51401-SV7-A02

                4cyl rear shock P/N - 52611-SV4-A02
                4cyl rear spring P/N - 52441-SL5-A03

                6cyl rear shock P/N - 52611-SV7-A02

Interesting. Thats some surprising info. If they are similar I wonder why manufacturers badge the v6 version separate. Guess as mentioned diff spring rates and such.

probably for the same reason alot of them label the EX model differently for exhausts. Its a different engine designation, and they dont want to sell something that they arent 100% positive will fit. It took me a while to get over the fact that the WS2 was marketed as a DX/LX product, and, even though I knew that there was no variance, I still had that little doubt about ordering it because of that. It fit perfectly though.

Also, that spring rate definitely contributes to the difference.

Compliments of TASauto. theyve got the V6 95-97 sedan seperate from the other 5G's.

They also have the coupe sedan and wagon in different sections. Makes me think its a superficial separation.

a closer look at the part numbers for Eibach Pro Kit springs.

                        v6 - 252740
                        4cyl - 251140

Again, mostly the same. Doesnt look like theyre exactly the same spring, but it would seem to me that the difference has more to do with spring rate (to support the extra weight of the v6) than design.

Honda wouldnt redesign the entire suspension of the car, especially when it has one thats pretty well sorted out already. The engine compartment is vastly changed, but I dont see why everyone expects the suspension to be different as well.

                        EDIT: Definitive proof.

He installed 90-97 Tein S-Techs when he did his transmission swap. They worked perfectly. Theres your answer Nail05.

lol yea. I dunno much about the v6 suspension wise so I wasnt sure. But you learn something new everyday. I seen there are a lot of people that swapped over to 5g on this board so I decided to ask here lol.
