Nice, I just recently picked up a 97 Maxima GXE. How are you liking it?

I've been a member there for about 6 years ... my first car was a black on black SE.

As far as how I like it so far... it's decent. The V6 is great... around town I don't have to drive it like my old car; I just get it moving and get to 5th. It pulls clean from about 1K to redline no problem. A/C, P/S and seatbelts are all appreciated pluses, and the stock stereo is alright enough. It's definitely roomier than the Accord too, in all directions.

The only thing that needs work is the handling... it feels like a huge car, and not something that's just 100# heavier than my 1st CB. Also, no leather, no sunroof But the handling should be taken care of by next month, and the other stuff... with my next car

It's a different experience than the H22 Accord for sure...the CB was frantic, loud, hot and temperamental. It was so low I'd often scrape out of driveways and over bumps. But man, when it was 100% it was phenomenal. The suspension was a little soft but it was great w/the manual steering. The motor was loud around town but perfect in VTEC... etc., etc.

With this the driving experience is more chill... I can lug around town in 3rd & 5th if I don't come to a complete stop. If I squeeze the fun pedal from anywhere past 1.5K, even in 5th, it pulls. Everyone has seat belts. Etc. Once I get rid of this monster truck look and get that y-pipe I think I'll be pretty much done.

really? u mean a torsion beam type?...thats weird....
I bet u can still upgrade to a shock/spring setup though, either case its a multilink setup in the back...it should be pretty cool.

                    cool car...one of my favorites

It has shocks and springs all around, and people upgrade them... it just gets a little hairy over bumpy roads. It's a lot better than my last Accord though (all the bushings were shot)
