Ok, so my main dd took a crap on me. D15B7 that's in the car decided it to start using a hellacious amount of oil. I currently have in my garage a good z6 head, y8 block with a spun rod bearing, and a 85k f22b1 with no problems whatsoever. I'm torn between doing an f2d setup or trying to salvage an oil starved bottom end (most likely oil pump). My concerns with the f2d are hood clearance and cooling issues. What's my best bet?

Its a dd....swap in another d series and call it a day.....the f22b1 is not gonna be a simple drop in....gonna need mounts....f2d bellhousing....gonna have some wiring to figure out id imagine
Plus the f22b1 sucks my balls....and not well

Pretty sure the rings are bad. All the d series around here for sale have the same problem. Is the only symptom it burning oil?.....id imagine that if your burning that much oil cuz of bad rings then youd notice the loss of compression as well.
Do what you want to do....but the smart answer is swap to another D....its simple and can be done in a day.....I know my D to D swap only took a day....I cant see how all D series engines being sold in your area being in shitty shape.Comment

She's fixed now. Oil pan gasket and distributor seal were leaking. Still picked up a d16z6 on the side to build.
