    01 Civic COMPLIANCE Bushing?

Just like the title says.. My dad recently had his 2001 Civic LX into the dealership for a tune up. They informed him that the rear compliance bushings need to be replaced. They told him and wrote on the reciept that the Left (drivers) side COMPLIANCE bushing is BROKEN and the Right (pass.) side is cracked.

I took the car down to the shop at my school and got it up on a lift, I did a full shake down of the rear end and found nothing. I had my instructor look at it and he has never heard of a compliance bushing..

So my question is, Where is this mysterious compliance bushing located? And would a broken or cracked compliance bushing be in a position that could cause tire cupping and other wear problems? Any help will be appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

Hmm...not sure here...but I can through some information at ya:
    should look like like this
number 12 & 13 kinda look like one
    or number 7 here
I believe a Compliance bushing is just a type of bushing, not a specific bushing. Hope it helps.

as far as i kno, the complience bushings are up front. We do them on the 7th gen civics all the time. as for the rear, you're prolly talkin about lower control arm bushings...

I dont think this would make much of a difference but it is a 4DR LX AUTO..

The dealership has replaced the front Compliance bushings because they were both broken and the dealership went ahead and replaced them before checking with my dad.. Needless to say he was not happy about that..

The tires that were on the rear are SEVERELY Cupped, and the car sounds like a Jeep with big mud tires driving down the road.. Supposedly these compliance bushings are the cause of the cupped tires..
