    State Bar Ref ?

Every Saturday racers gather up in camarillo, california @ the del taco parking lot and this saturday the cops finally wanted to put an end to it so they decided to pull over every and any one in there way, well i just had to be at the wrong situation at the wrong time, picking up my gf from work at the same shopping center, the cops decided to pull me over for suposubly a license plate lamp, then the cop demanded for me to pop my hood and gave me a ticket for not having a carb sticker on my intake, now my question is for anyone who's had to see the state ref, will me have to smog my car or will he just look to see if i have put my stock intake back on. sorry i didnt know what topic to put this under, i thought it was sutible for this section since it has to do with street racing

Just put the stock one back in there. Simple enough. Just don't get caught with the other one again.

If you want to keep a non-stock (cold air or short ram) intake, go get an AEM or Injen. They come with the CARB sticker and the ref will pass it in about 2 minutes. I got the visual on my H22 swap passed with a Greddy header and an AEM CAI, so it CAN be done. But if there is no CARB sticker and you don't want to fork out for an AEM or Injen (or other CARB certified) intake, then you have no choice but to put the stock intake back on and (by CA law) leave it on.

Holy shit! I thought NJ was bad! We only have problems with bi-yearly inspection... CARB (since it's only a CA based thing) isn't an issue. Man, that sucks! The price of that ticket alone would buy you a used AEM and a used DC header! Sorry to hear it man... better slap the stocker back on, or shell out the cash for a CARB approved setup! Sell your non-CARB intake to someone out of state!

Man I love Washington state. Their is no restriction here except the law on modified exhaust system which no one cares. Because if they want to target every honda with an exhaust system they should go overlook 4x4 trucks and ols chool hot rods. I'm just guessing that WA is not that strict I'm not saying they don't have smog laws, but I never got questioned for my intake, headers and exhaust.

I live in a town pop. 20,000 people and I've never had a cop mention anything to me about my car. Its not rice, but when I've (sadly) gotten a ticket in the past they have never wanted me to pop my hood! haha then again I've got AEM and DC anyways not like it would matter.....Damn Calf. cops.

I dunno how they do things in CA, but if the cop isn't an ASE certified mechanic, he has no right to be under the hood of your car.
