    ANOTHER 16 sec. H22

Well another disapointed swapper here. I think it's mostly due to driver though. Took the CB7 to the track last night and the best we pulled out of it was a 16.06 At first we were hitting mid 16's and not getting traction for shit. So we let some air out of the tires and started running better times. I'll post the 3 best times we ran.....

    RT- .170
    60 ft-2.49
    1/8 et-10.57
    1/8 mph-68.83
    1/4 et-16.21
    1/4 mph-88.56

    RT- .113
    60 ft-2.55
    1/8 et-10.54
    1/8 mph-69.44
    1/4 et-16.13
    1/4 mph-89.20

    RT- .192
    60 ft-2.48
    1/8 et-10.50
    1/8 mph-69.56
    1/4 et-16.06
    1/4 mph-89.79

Mod list: JDM H22A, JDM P13 ECU, Short Ram, Catback "2.5, "2.5 ebay resonater style cat, JDM manifold and downpipe, 12 lb. flywheel and Stage 1 clutch. That's about it. I was running on my "17's w/ cheap shit tires and an F22 tranny that grinds second and third. Elevation is at 4000 feet. I have an H22 tranny that will be dropped in as soon as I order the carbon synchros and final drive kit for it (an aftermarket LSD if I can wait long enough). BTW does anyone know how to access gearspeeds page? The only link I can find sends me to a Flash intro and I can't get past it.

So can we chock this up to shitty drivers? Me and my brother both ran it and I guess we both suck? I ran shittier times than he did though, my best was a 16.4. Tell me what you guys think. How can we improve our driving skills? I read something about feathering the clutch and WOT...we always dump the clutch and feather the gas, maybe that'll help us out a bit. What can I expect the car to run if I can get the 60 foot down to a 2.2 or a 2.3?

    </disapointed crappy driver rant>

crappy driver for sure. those are some of the worst 60''s ive seen. get that down to 2.2's and you should be seeing mid 15's.

also, learn how to feather the clutch, it works wonders.

yea, the best time I got was a 16.1 when I went but the fastest I was going at the end of the quarter was 77MPH so IDK. At least you almost reached 90. Was it your first time out?

What exactly do you mean by feather the clutch, how do you do that?

So any tips on getting the 60's down? Before the next time I go out to the track I want to have my ITR wheels. What street tires should I buy that I can get decent traction with? I was planning on going with some azenis. What about a recommended tire size? I'm gonna try learning how to feather the clutch though.

My second time out there, first with the Accord though. I was extremely disapointed when I ran the same times in my Mazda which only had 130 HP and 120 TQ.

You have been defeated by a car with child locks, how embarassing...

Are these tires going to be good daily driver tires also? What I mean is the tread life decent? I'm sorry I know shit about tires.

This is my understanding about feathering the clutch so far.....You want to give just enough clutch to where you don't bog, but you don't wanna give enough to spin the tires.

my sister's boyfriend has them on his legacy 2.0gt. even though it's awd, he has yet to break traction with them. even when he tried. and the majority of people do use them for daily driving.

my 15.2 was my 2nd time at the track, ever and it was my 2nd run that night.

feather out the clutch is pretty much just keeping your foot on the clutch the whole time. engaging and disengaging it as needed, while you're going wot.

but dont like kick it, its just a light movement of your foot, in and out, in and out until you get traction. dont let go of the gas pedal because you will bog.

also, to get your 60's down, as soon as you see the last yellow on the tree, go. not before, but right after you see it go on. dont wait for the green.

Upon a quick search for them I couldn't find any in "15..is it just the places I'm looking? I plan on the ITR 4 lug wheels and they are "15's...

I thought going on the yellow and not the green effects RT only? From what I understand RT has nothing to do with your 60's or ET's...?????

you COULD get some BFG drag radials. they are good for street, but SUCK for any kind of wetness on the road. they are meant for drag racing, but at the same time to keep it streetable.

they do have decent tread life tho.

or jsut get some z rated tires, some nittos, or some retreads

oh, and btw, my 15.2 was with an f22b with an f22a tranny.

N/M just got schooled by my dad on RT's and ET's....

d112crzy so the drag radials won't wear in crazy amounts of time, that's good to know...only need them in the front anyways.

RT will be edited into the original post....

As long as they aren't the Street legal drag radials they have out. Thats what I plan on going to next too and getting rid of the no name tires that came with my wheels. IDK the name of them but I wann get the ones that have the flame tread. But I was asking if it was your first time because my first time I was just having such a blast going down the track I didn't even pay too much attention to all the other factors involved.

I just think the more and more you go, the better you'll get at it. Practice makes perfect right?

Yeah practice makes perfect! The only problem is I don't have the time to get to the track very often...It's been a year since the last time I went. So I can't practice effectively, because on the street who knows if you're really doing better or not..know what I mean.

The track can be a very fun place, especially when you go with friends.
