    90 cb Vs 97 SI

So i raced my 1st civic si last night. We did the 1st race at a 55mph roll, with me in 3rd. when we took off, we stayed dead even. I could hear him hittin gears, while my good ol' cb just kept revin in 3rd. In the end he got me by aout a full car befor he hit the hazzards. we stoped a ta light and he said "What do you got in that thing!?" lol, i just said "nothin but an f22" . he said he his was a b16 with bolt ons (witch i new, but i was trying to make friendly conversation). THen we got to a 35 mph roll, with me in 2nd. # beeps and we tool off. We hit the gas and all i heard was his V-tec, but i never saw him. FRom 2nd i beat him by about a carlength untill almost 5th. I was super stoked to finally run with a b16.

There was no 97 SI... It was a 99-00 option only.

He probably called it an SI because of the engine but its not genuinely an "SI" unless its a canadian model then its equivalent to a usdm ex with the d16. B16s can be fast its just people driving them dont know how to drive them. You need to learn to beat the shit out of that engine to make it go fast and I am not lying.

Even in stock form, they suck, when you beat the crap out of them.

They have what amounts to a 1000-1500 RPM powerband.

bolt-on h22 could run with one. they only run like a 14.5 or so. nothing spectacular.

There is a bolt on one here that has run a 13.9, and several in the very low 14 range.

I think he means the Si only runs mid-14s.

But yeah, depending on what you consider a bolt-on, an H22 could EASILY get into the 13s. With cams, a good header, a good exhaust, a little weight reduction, and a good tune, an H22 would be a monster.
