Hey Chicago guys! I was thinking it would be a cool idea if we can get a list of good, trusted shops to get some work done around the city and surrounding suburbs. Any hookups at shops are also welcome
I am personally looking for suggestions on a good exhaust shop. I have almost all of the parts necessary, but they will have to modify it to fit my wagon (it's from a sedan). So a place that knows how to cut/weld cleanly is necessary.
Also, are there any fellow Chicago CB'ers who want to get together every once in a while and help each other out with fixing our cars? I used to do this with a couple of guys from 7thgencivic.com back in the day and it was great. A couple guys lended their garages and if anyone needed some work done (not crazy engine overhaul stuff) we all kinda pitched in and hung out.
I know I'm not alone here when I say I've got some stuff I've been needing to do on my car. Some of us have tools, but no place (me). Some have a great place, but no tools, and some of use just plain are tools, regardless (most of us :P). The weather is getting nice out. Let's see if we can help each other get our babies ready for the 2011 meet season, yeah?
PS
I've had a lot of luck with E-Tech in Itasca and Rich's Itasca Auto Body & Repair. Both of them are pretty well priced and I've never seen any work come back from them. They have worked on my ex-gf's, grandma's, and my ma's (big ECM problems there) cars.
Also, Rich's body work is impeccable
