ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

I used a heat gun and a razor blade. Then used a adhesive remover for any film left over. Here's another thread

i've always peeled it off with the aid of heat (like above). then your left with the glue residue. for that, i saturate the window with glass cleaner and then use a razor blade to scape it off. later.

do as suggested above.. but do NOT use the razor blade on the back windshield(rear window) unless you don't care about the rear window defoger/defroster..

I've used windex and razor blade several times. Just wet the tint and peel off, no big deal really.

actually the rear windshield is fine, is just the windows.

A friend of mine used to do tint when I was in Alabama and he was saying to use pure amonia. Window cleaner is actually bad for tint. I haven't ever done it but that's what he used to use to take the old tinit off before applying the new.

window cleaner does strange things to tint. my mom cleaned her driver window with it and now it's all weird and you can't see thru it. the bottom started to peel off but it wouldn't rip off all the way. and where it did rip off, it left the worst sticky residue. it's horrible because you have to put the window down to see out at all. i could've sworn i saw a spray at advance auto one time that was supposed to help with removing tint from windows, but i could just be imagining things...idk

                    window film removal

I owned a window tinting business here in the phoenix area for 15 years. I have stripped the film off of hundreds of cars. To remove the film off of the side windows you need two things. A sprayer bottle with a little bit of dawn dish washing soap and water in it and a LOT of scraper blades. You do NOT need any kind of special adhesive removers or things like that. You do need alot of elbow grease though.

For door glass that rolls up and down start by rolling the window down about an inch or two. Then peel up one of the corners and see if you can peel the whole piece down. If you can, peel it down to the door panel and let it hang there. Do not roll the window up yet. Then starting at the top spray the window with the soap and water solution and start scraping the adhesive off working your way from the top down. Change the razor blades very frequently and keep the adhesive off of the door panel. After you remove the adhesive about three or four inches from the top you can roll the window up all the way. Finish peeling the film off the window and then continue to scrape the adhesive off working from the top down. Use alot of soapy water ( it does'nt hurt anything ) and alot of razor blades. In cases were the film will not peel off you have to scrape it off. Use the soapy water to make it easier.

Back windows: first get a black plastic garbage bag. Then with the same soapy water solution spray the outside of the back glass. Cut open the garbage bag and lay it on the back glass. Cut the garbage bag to the shape of the back glass. Then spray the INSIDE of the back window with the soapy solution. Get it very wet. You can't use to much water and it really won't hurt anything in the car. After that put the garbage bag on the inside of the back glass making sure that it is covering every part of the old tint. Also make sure that there is soapy water everywere between the tint and garbage bag. Then with all the windows rolled up put the car outside with the sun shining directly on the back window. Leave the car outside until the back window becomes VERY hot but don't leave it to long. You will have to keep checking on it. After awhile you should be able to peel up an edge and peel the whole thing off. Sometimes there is adhesive left behind. If this is the case then get some medium fine steel wool. Respray the back glass with lots of soapy water and start scrubing. This will remove the adhesive without harming the defroster lines. It takes a long time and alot of elbow grease but it will save the defroster.

well if your trying to take the tint of then you can use windex
but yeah razor blades work are you going to have the car retented
cause then you might still want to take all the tent off
or else the old tent compared to the new tent will look slightly different
the old tent will look slightly faded

window cleaner has amonia in it,amonia kills the tint glue,I always used pure amonia and razor scraper to remove tint,it takes glue and all off.
