ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Blacked out tail lights ?

I just want to "frost/smoke" the tail lights, make them look tinted, can i just use reg window tint, or is there some special process?

I'd recommend vinyl so you can take it off at anytime:

But, you could also use "Night Shade" to spray paint tint on it.
It'll give you the option to lightly smoke, or black it out.
But, this is harder to go back to stock.

I think the spray tint looks better. But for the love of God, make sure you do very, VERY light coats b/c that shit runs extremely easily. And make sure you're careful with how dark you want them. I turned mine black b/c it just didn't seem dark at first. Also, mark off your backup lights if you still want to see behind you when you're in reverse.

i did the tinted tails on my old eg, the spray fades after some years and looks like crap, i really like just strait tails now, whether red/clears or stock, but if you really like the look, deff go vinyl, you'll never regret it, plus it protects

I found out the hard way about the reverse light. I don't think using actual paint would be a good idea though.

if you spray night shades, make sure you clear over the spray to cut down on fading and scratches. as already stated, some dark tinted vinyl will probably give you the best effect, and is easily returned to normal

My lights are vinyl, has been through many rain storm and power washers and still going strong. Plus if the cops say they'll ticket you or if it causes problems with inspections you can peel it right off

I know someone that did the film tint and when he took it off it left this sticky film on that he couldent get off. NO matter what tint you use, do it on a spare set of tails!!! I did just in case a cop want to be an ass. Spray tint in not hard to get off if you use the right stuff.
