ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The "you pull it" JY's, you walk around, find what you want, take it off, then pay.

Some they pull it for you.

Most of them you pay like a dollar to get in and you take your own tools, and just get whatever you need, and then pay for the parts.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

just look in your phone book and call a bunch of them that's near you.

all you gotta do is ask if they "salvage yard" is the kind that "you" can walk around in pulling your own parts.

that's the important thing, call it a "salvage yard" not a junk yard, hell they might even hang up on you. it's not junk because you're interested in it.

as for tools, socket sets with wrenches, extensions, screw drivers, hammer, plieres, wire cutters, some kind of scraper tool , red rags, gloves, zip lock bags ( for screws and stuff).

i went last thursday, right at the front as soon as i walked out into the yard there was a Legend Coupe. I snatched up that lip so fast it wasn't even funny.

Yea, most are pull it yourself. You could also check out "car-parts.com" and see if they have a lip at a junkyard near you. The ones from car-parts.com are mostly stuff already pulled. Just call, ask them if they have it, if so...let them know you'll be in to purchase it, and they'll get it for you when you hang up. I think it's known as a "spoiler front" in the listings.

                take this stuff with you:

-a friend. who knows if you find a good deal on some suspension parts out there or something that requires you lifting the car up some how. you'll need the help.

-a good set of tools. everything from a 6mm socket to a 24mm socket. make sure you have these and good ratchet. something like Craftsmen, Stanley, or Snap-On. any of those will do. some of those cars may have been sitting out there for a while and having a $5 ratchet will do nothing but leave you with bloody knuckles and a broken tool.

-PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench. rain, 16-18 year old car, nuts and bolts. nuff said.

-at least $100. because you might find somany parts, you know if you leave them, its just like jailbait. you dont get it, someone else will.

I think this should be in the sticky!!! :P

                            DIY "How to Junkyard" LOL

This is how me and my bois do it.

Really try not to go alone and bring a friend or two with you....especially at the U-pull it yards. Sometimes when I find a good scrap car and want multiple things, it's always good to have some friends to help you "Guard" the car so any other interested people sometimes shy away and leave the car alone if you are whoring it already.

I usually always get outnumbered 3:1-4:1 when pulling parts off CBs at my local yard because it's popular. Anybody that lives close to the 707 Pick n' Pull knows how fast those cars get stripped. It's like putting a injured animal in a piranha infested pool. It gets reduced to just a chassis within 3-4 days seriously if it's in good shape.

Try to hitup the yard on rainy days. SERIOUSLY! A majority of the time there's fewer people because the sissies don't want to get wet or muddy. This leaves more cars for the picking!! Some things I like to do is pull a trunk carpet from a civic or a accord for something to lay on when the ground is muddy or wet. Also bring a 18"-20" pipe with you to use as a breaker bar just in case you see some good rims.

Oh hoodies and cargo pants are my choice of clothes because you can carry hella shiet in them.
I need a custom turbo manifold built....
