ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Desert tan, militant styling, carpc *very long*

I have been thinking of going to a flat desert tan with flat black stenciled writing. Would say HONDA on trunk along with CB7. Bottom front of doors would say my username, front, right of bumper would read, Organized Chaos. I have tan interior with the 91 "spider" OEM alloys, black dash. Was thinking of going with digital desert fabric in door panels OEM fabric location and accent places around the interior. Rims would be flat black with brushed steel lip, converting all silver trim to brushed steel look. Rip out all carpet and spray rubber coating (like in the Honda Elements). Valve cover will be custom desert digital and all plastic trim pieces will be flat black. I may "depolish" my lenses for a less reflective look (vertical motion fine sandpaper) including the OEM spoiler LED bar. Windows will be tinted 22% or max legal limit, black.

Computer system will either be a AspireOne w/ 7" LCD mounted top of dash coupled to a power inverter on a relay OR I may try building a ITX system although these tend to be more expensive and less mobile. Front of grill will have a webcam with IR filter removed, fog lights with IR filters (IR only), brake light "OFF" switch. Going to run a 3G/HSDPA cell modem for net along with a hacked wrt54g in the trunk for permanent wardriving. I would like to mount a omni antenna (in PVC tubing) in the location of the stock antenna. AM/FM radio will come off a multifunction TV tuner card that can handle HD broadcast. I plan on running Pandora or my large MP3 collection in the car. Centrafuse front end.

I am a computer tech that can solder avidly, was manager of mobile installs before Circuit City failed, and do my own headgaskets, trans, car work.

What I am aiming for is a extreme militant car with a excellent infotainment system with some added goodies.

Total cost? Aspire one $250, 7" touchscreen $275, power inverter $75, paint $50-$75, sandpaper $15, cloth $25, glue $18, webcam $10-$20, IR filters $5-$15. The car was $300 with a new engine, bad trans. TCU and auto trans is going in at $350 w/ warranty

    Total cost (including car)?
    $1373 estimated

I hope I am spreading inspiration at the very least. I am looking for comments and suggestions before I start this project. I have 3 years of taxes that I need to file and I'm expecting enough back to do this and buy the wife a 95 volvo 850 turbo (completely rebuilt). This will turn into my project thread as time passes.

I love the idea. Dont know if I would go stenciled though, but maybe a nice blocky font with that same look, but a lil cleaner. I'll try to Photoshop what I'm talking about. Otherwise, good luck!

Not necessarily like this, but a quick Photoshop, with my coupe in its stock form lol.

I like the idea. I'd be curious to see how it comes out!

As for the mobile computer setup... I love it. I'm dying to do the same thing myself. Right now, I just cart my Aspire One around on my passenger seat I'm a property inspector, so I use it for work. Great little machine, even if mine is defective (keeps restarting on me... at least twice a day, and I keep it cool... if you know anything about that, since it's what you do, PM me... rather than whoring your thread... I could use the help. This is one long parenthetical statement...)

I actually like that a lot. I was thinking of the plain jo on the stock trunk lid location. If I was going to do this with vinyl I'd get me a old plotter for cheap and some knife cartridges. Hell then I could do work for the whole community

The car I was going to do this to, my black 91 CB7 does not have a title because the guy i got it off of lied bout the title and it is actually his friends car and he is in jail. It will take awhile to get the paperwork to get the title but in the mean time I'm picking up a lowered modded white one for cheap cheap cheap tomorrow.

I started painting today and will take a few weeks to finish as I'm doing this in my spare time. I can tell from what I have done, it is going to be mad!

not sure about the stencils but the flat tan would look good with the desert camo valve cover

the "brushed aluminum" look is going to be the thing that cost the most you have to send it off the be anodized that color. We do that at work on our helicopters for like drawer handles and stuff like that. It is pretty expensive.

You could grab a couple shades of alumin color paint. Throw down the lightest one. Let it dry, spray a darker one and then run a brush down it. Then repeat with a darker color. Finally spary a coat of clear. That should work, basically like doing wood grain but doing an brushed aluminum look.
