ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Different front seats

I am just looking for info on front seat swaps for my 91 lx sedan. I have access to a 92 prelude so and I like those front seats better than mine. Any suggestions? Overall I'm going for a very aggressive look inside and out and any info to save me a headache would be appreciated.

Our vehicles did have the option to come with leather. 91 SE's and 93 SE's had leather if I am not mistaken. If you want to stay OEM; that is a great option. I am not experienced on preludes so I cannot confirm any prelude questions sorry.

There is a member on here that retrofitted Acura RL leather seats front and back in to his CB7. Do a search and read up on it. I'm pretty sure there was some fabrication needed, but we are talking small adjustments. I'd say it was a pretty straight-forward DIY.

Yeah, he did a lot of work for that swap. I only want to swap my fronts out. I'm gonna keep the back seat stock, eventually having it reupholstered so it all matches. It's a good write up though.

If you're wanting to go "aggressive", why not grab a set of Recaros or Brides?

Agreed...most OEM Honda seats are about as "aggressive" as a folding chair.

I'm assuming you want a racing style seat. $$$ for a good , safe seat. Are you against doing fabrication?

Right if you have fab skills(mine suck, but my peoples don't) the S2000 or rsx type s seats are pretty aggressive.

No I can do the fabrication and it would be that much more gratifying to do the work myself. I'm not trying to spend a bunch of money on seats when that money could be used on the engine upgrades or suspension or drivetrain. I'm trying to build the car in a way that nobody else has in some aspects of the build and just going and buying seats is to easy and someone else probably already has the same ones. I'd rather try and be different, know what I mean. Even if someone else or a hand full of people have the same modification I do its still not something you see in every other car

If you can do fab, then that opens up a world of opportunities. It's not much else we can do. You can take seats from literally any car.

If you want to "be different" on this car, you're going to be sadly disappointed if your goals are to favor cost-savings measures over ready-made parts. Your argument against Recaros, or other expensive seats in this case is off-base. There are probably 10 times as many owners of these cars through the years that have retrofitted Prelude seats in their Accords as there are those that have installed dedicated track seats.

I don't mean to knock your opinions at all. I just mean to say that if being different is your goal, then you might want to consider seats other than Prelude seats.

I've got RSX seats in mine. It was quite a lot of work, but i wanted to retain the stock Acura sliders. I had to drill out all the rivets/spot welds, total of 8 for both seats, in order to reuse the stock mounting tabs which WILL work, they're the ideal angle for a CB7 chassis, just need to be spaced wider and then welded in place.

check out my MR thread for more photos and info. I picked up my seats for 180 and sold an airbag inflator out of one of them for 45, so not bad for $135.

Were they not even close, otherwise? I'm hoping to pick up a pair of them here in Dallas as soon as I sell my bike. The pair that the importer has is the first pair I've seen in a while where there are no imperfections in the fabric.

Yeah I've noticed. I've decided to go in a completely different direction. I hooked up with a friend of mine I haven't talked to in years. His cousin does upholstery and can build me a set of custom 1 off seats. I just need to send him a couple pictures of the style I want and he will take what I have and build them from scratch using stock mounting hardware. It's gonna be a few months before I get to the seats but I think that's the route I'm gonna go. So I might just get my unique seats after all. But budget ain't in the vocabulary with those. I might get a bit of a discount but it isn't gonna be cheap!
