I'm thinking about tinting my windows, and i was wondering if it would be better to do it my self or take it to a shop. My question, is it an easy task or a lot of work?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

no it is not easy work by no means. if you have no experience prior to this, then i would say don't even attempt it.
the pro's to going to a shoop is that you can get a lifetime guarantee against ripples, peeling etc, and they take the time to do it right and usually looks pretty damn good.
i think to get all 4 windows done and back windshield its like 300 installed...depends on where you go though.Audi A4 2.8 Quattro Sport

My dad is considering getting his '01 Accord tinted...he checked out one spot and although they want $265, it does come with a national lifetime warranty that covers color change. And if god forbid his car windows get broken, they'll retint them for free, for life.Originally posted by Maple50175It's not a lifetime guarentee. Mine is 2 years. some are 4 years..... Nothing is lifetime though.

anybody here from chicago?? cuz im trying to find out the LEGAL tint % u can have on ur windows...and its going str8 to a pro once i find out..i just think that i dont even wanna bother with trying to do it myself...like someone else mentioned its almost impossible to do the back window urself...cuz u have to keep heating it slightly with a heat gun to make it fit the curve of the window...and then sometimes sand down the lil dots that are at the top of the back window so that the tint doesnt lift up around the dots.....PAIN IN THE CULO..imo..so go pro and save urself a LOTTA headache..
