ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Lighting: HID' 6000K or 4300K

Hey guys... i need some help/suggestions

Im again in the market for another HID Kit for my accord. I had a Xenondepot.com Philips 9006 Series 6000K kit, and was quite satisfied in terms of light distribution, yet i decided to sell it due to circumstances at the time.

However, im now in the need to decide on obtaining another kit, most likely from the similar manufacturer (Philips) as they now brought in their SLIMLINE series, and their ballasts are much easier to mount. Now where i need help is on what colour temp i should get. I enjoyed having the 6000K temp with its colour being similar to the 2004/05 Acura TL lights. Yet i was then thinking i may get a better output with a 4300K Temp.

Any suggestions, and/or pics. I found a few pics but they were 6000K + which ive already seen. In terms of 4300K ive also heard they're best usually in Projectors only, yet i may have heard wrong.

    Please let me know, thanks!

I would never have guessed an OEM HID, especially one so recent as the 04-05 TL, had a 6000K color temp.

At any rate, if it's more lumens (and therefore visibility) you want, always go for 4300K.

Hey, well im not saying its 6000k color temp dead on (in terms of the 04-05 TL, but its quite close...).

So the 4300K, what exactly does the color output look like, i heard and have seen in a few pics its slightly similar to a regular halogen/white'ish colour with a tint of blue...

I think 4100K to 4300K is what is considered "daylight" and they have the best output for the money, and anything higher is just cool looking and not really practical for lighting purposes. Oh and the cops screw with you more if you have blue lights instead of regular. I'd still get 4300K if i were you.

In terms of performance... the closer you get to 4100k-4300k is the best. In terms of color...5000k-6000k would be nice. But I'm all about retrofitting the housing for some OEM HID projectors.
