ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

what kind of paint arew you looking for? if you are going to spray interior parts, look for it at all the places that sell spray paint, like home depot, lowes, pep boys, etc. if oyu need exterior paint, go to a body shop or maaco, but i think a professional body shop would be better if you want it done right.

They discontinued that color, and the only thing I found that might work is metalcast orange. I'll see soon.

Michaels carries only Krylon yellow and red where I live. I was thinking of mixing the two to get the amber corner look. The orange in mutiple layers is probally the best way which i can only find online. Ive heard of people using just red but not seen the results. I would like to know how to achieve that smoked amber look. Most amber corner lenses for the Cb7 look more euro. Good luck!

Tamiya makes Clear Orange and Clear Yellow Spray paints. FOR AMBER: the part number to use at a local hobby shop is TAM85073. the product discription is Spray Laquer TS-73 Clear Org. FOR PLASTICS. Retail is $5.50 a can. you'll probably spend a little more at a hobby shop though to cover their shipping costs to ship paint...go to the hobby shop and have them special order it for you. also use the Tamiya TS-13 Clear Coat over top of it. it works great and stays shiny orange. even after snow storm, heavy rain, etc. i've done like 10 pieces with this method. i didnt sand any of them. i've done corner lights, numerous bumper lights and tailights.

U can order it all from gpahobbies.com. or go to a local hobby shop. stay away from hobbytown though. they suck.

so a clear coat would help the paint stay on longer, i'll have to check that out some time

oh yea, man. i did this on three of my past cars now. and two of them drove through snow/salt situations. in the end, the lenses looked just as good as before the season. i use like 8 coats of amber paint and only one of clear. im not sure how it would turn out with more.

I ended up using Duplicolor Metalcast orange. I was using it to paint my new sidemarkers. It turned out very good, but I can't get pics up right now, b/c there is a fucking tropical storm outside right now and it's raining a lot.
I will get up pics ASAP. Thanks for all the help

I have no idea what hobby town is, and Michaels, I haven't seen a Michaels since I lived in AZ. The metalcast looks good, but I am a bit worried for when I switch my corners to JDM Amber they will be darker. my sidemarkers are the same as the OEM corner reflector, but the JDM ones are darker like the bumper signals. Is the Tamiya stuff darker? Or does anyone have some Krylon Orange they don't want/need?
And here's a question for you paint guys out there; have any of you mixed your own amber concoction or had some made? Just curious as to what the best method is for getting amber paint, b/c I love the look of it, and plan to use it on several things if possible. Thanks guys.
