ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

      1) where did you hear this?

      2) if you go down 1", you'll probably be out of specs as far as camber settings go

      3) what is OK isn't always what is best......you can live without an alignment in a lot of situations, but the worse the alignment, the less miles you'll get out of your tires......

i'd get a camber kit (maybe $120 for both sides, adjustable ball joints) and do it right......that way, you get optimal tire wear, the best handling and it's not a big deal......if you do it half ass, you'll get half ass results

i did alignments for a few years and learned from the best......it's one of those things that you simply can't half ass....it's either right or it's 100% wrong......

I had a 1.8" drop and 7.5" wide wheels. Camber wear in the front and back was noticable. My camber kit broke, and I went back to stock without an alignment... My tires were gone in 2 months.

With your drop, if you have stock-width wheels, a proper alignment would probably keep your tires from wearing out TOO fast... but the effects of negative camber will still be evident. Supposedly, Nitto Neo Gen tires are made for negative camber, and don't wear as quickly (I'm currently running a similar drop, and I'm going to try a set myself...)

Fizz is right. Get a camber kit (ball joint ones still don't seem good to me... but people are using them without issues...) Get properly aligned. Don't mess with it. Many normal shops may not be used to aligning cars with camber kits... you might want to make sure they're comfortable with your equipment. If they aren't find someone who is.

depends, i was stock height and my camber was off 1 degree...lowerd it 1.2 inches and it was off 1.5 degrees.

you have to check your alignment when you drop it to tell you if you need it or not.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

just drop it, align it, and watch the tire wear. you may even decide you don't need a camber kit. later.
