ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

well i dont know of anyone who has suicide doors on here. i could be wroung tho. there have been a bunch of people on here who have talked about doing it and a lot of people have asked.

the reason no one has done it is probably because of the amount of work involved to successfully pull it off. you could get a shop to do it for you but that would cost a lot of money to get them to do it. theres a lot of cutting and welding involved and if you're car has power options, then thats even more work because you have to rewire everything.

if someone does have suicide doors on here it would be really cool to see. if no one does then you could be the first. good luck man.

nope, what you have to do is get lambos in the front and lambos in the rear, but the ones in the rear need to open up backwards

                  How easy = not easy.

Ive seen the work invloved in doing this on a similar car. The rear seal is weak and need serious renforcement. Rear doors are not lightweight at all. They will need structual work that cant be done unless your ready to strip and fabricate alot of steel. Think about where the hinges will be. They go from the top and bottom of a strong pillar to about 8 to 10 inches of nothing but un reinforced weakness. so aside from the hindges being mounted someplace that isnt ment to support ANY load they are also closer together all it will take is some retard lean on the top of the door and your alligment will be completely screwed up.

Basicly, its doable. But no easy task unless you are VERY skilled at welding and have a good idea about the engenering that will need to be takin into consideration.
I cant Slam further. The ground refuses to get any lower.

yeah, i looked into it, i'd have to cut into the rear support, which as Akira mentioned isnt really a support at all. You can do two hinge or one hinge but the problem is where to mount it where you can get good support with no door sag and when closed will give a good seal.

you would have to cut into the rear door seal and weld mounting brackets onto the sides, on drivers side before the gas tank filler pathway no less. Theres not alot of room and i think the only part strong enough to support the door would be the side where the rear strut tower is, and theres alot of empty space once you cut back there that needs to be re-inforced. Then once half your hinge is welded in youd have to replace around it the metal you took out to make it look decent, which requires welding, sanding and painting. then mounting and aligning the door, which needs to be done before you enclose the hinge. And hope to god nothing ever breaks (welds) or slips causing sag. Also, you'd need to put on Suicide Door safety locks so your door doesnt fly open accidently on the highway. giant PITA. i wanted to do it but once i started looking into it hardcore i realized im not that dedicated lol. you should be the first

ok what bout a coupe? ya keep on sayin how hard it will be for the rear door but i want to know is it possible or is welding needed for the front door also?

coupe would be even worse. Theres nothing behind the "b-pillar" even remotely strong enough to support a coupe's heavier door. If you have a coupe and want to do something with your door, go lambo. or scissor. anything as long as it retains your stock hinge location.
