ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    1 comp 10" or 2 regular 10's?

What would sound better one PHOENIX GOLD RSDC104 COMPETITION 10" 4 OHM DUAL VOICE COIL 1,200 WATT CAR SUBWOOFER with 600 watts of continous power, or two Phoenix Gold Ryval V10S's? I listen to all types of music, and don't need to be heard down the street. I prefer the toghter bass from 10's and am leaning to a sealed box since most of my music is rock.

rock will play nicely in a ported box if u know what ur doin. but how much power are u gonna be running ???

Probably 500-600 watts RMS. I know the two lower end speakers would be cheaper, but anyone know which would sound better?

All i can say is its just as bad to under power subs than it is to over power them. as for sound 2 10's in a sealed box will give u a much tighter and cleaner response than ported. but it won't be as loud and its a little harder on ur subs.

So are you saying you're gonna run 600watts regardless of the setup? If thats the case you could just run with the 1 sub and save some space.

sealed is not a cleaner response unless u build a shitty box im sorry the past 3 years i have done nothing but ported boxes and have yet to hear it called shitty sounding.......

run what is better matched if its 600 to one sub that wants 600 then do that or if its 2 subs that want 300 each then do the 300 each being u will have more cone area and get better output.

Yes the 600 for the one, and 300 each for the pair since they can't handle more than that. I just want tight bass, and not all the booming that all the kids around here like. Most of their systems suck! They put 4 12" subs with tons of power, and leave the stock speakers, and all you can hear is the booming bass. They think it sounds good. I have already put some Alpine type R component speakers in the front, and some Blaupunkt coaxials in the rear. Just need to get the subs figured out. I am looking for a balanced setup with some bump when I want.

i would do a single sub for what u want if it was me..... u can play louder and cleaner "IMO" but thats not saying that running the 2 300 watters wont sound good either.... im just thinking that 1 sub will use less space and give more trunk room for the kiddo's
