ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    LCD locations in a CB7

Do any of you guys have any LCD screens in your cars? I want to put in a car-puter (mp3car.com) and I was curious where the best places to mount an LCD would be. At first I was thinking about this but I don't know about having it right by the cup holders is that good of an idea (but still considering getting it anyway). I want to get a flipdown and mount it in my non-sunroof LX but it's tricky finding a flip-down VGA touchscreen. Thoughts?

well first of all that double-din its too expensive plus i dont see any good name brand on it, for that price you could get the Pioneer one. And the place to put its the factory radio area, just get a dash kit and cut it to fit, thats what i got on my wagon.

Thing is, which Pioneer has VGA input? And that one had a DVD that hooked up to the computer via USB..

I reckon carputers are great, but if you're installing one, make sure you're going to make use of all those features! Radio, GPS, movies, music... you'd want to make sure you've got your project planned out. Plus if you take some time to plan the software, set out a nice slick layout to suit the CB.

Planning is key...be creative. If you can fiberglass, it makes life much more fun.

I may alternatively go with one of these 10" HP Netbooks (or some other notebook) and a laptop mount for holding it. Its less ideal but I love that stand and I wouldn't have to worry about installation and hacking away my interior, not to mention it would be the cheaper way out. I wonder if the cup holders would fit a slurpee?

Unless I can get a slick little mount for a little Lilliput touchscreen for up front then I might bail on that idea. Hmm.

Unsure. At the moment, I finally got my CB7 so I think that adjustable laptop shelf is a good idea regardless, so i'm going to get one. It can be used as a camcorder mount or even an LCD monitor so I'll get one of those for now..
