ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Audio solution for my CB9

Hey audio guys, I was wondering if you could help me pick out a stereo. I'm looking for the cheapest CD player that has an external audio input (i.e. for an MP3 player). Preferably of decent (not Wal-Mart brand) quality.

Also, since I only have the one rear speaker in the trunk-area, how would I go about wiring that up?

About $150. Can I get something to hook up to an amp for that price too? Just in case I want to throw some Type R's in my baby...

Well, yeah... But the stereo will have split LR for the rears. How can I get both L & R coming through the one speaker?

that makes no sense, you would be sending diffirent signals to your speaker, it would sound horrible and probably destroy your voice coil over time.

Don't the wagons have the rear speakers in the headliner and one 6x9 "subwoofer" on the floor?
              wat?

For a cheap but very nice set with ipod hookup, id recommend a pioneer headunit. theyve never gone wrong with me. Its an addition 20$ for a wire kit ( to exchange old headunit wire with new wire to connect the new headunit) and 20$ stereo install kit ( so when you take out ur old radio, the huge empty hole is filled up tight so when u slide your radio in your set. Its 20$ for wiring and 20$ for the stero install at best buy..pretty cheap i'd say but if you went to budget car audio speaker shops maybe you could get it for less. If you wanted to wire an amp kit ( for an amplifier ( for ur subs ) ) you'd have to buy a seprate amp kit but i wouldnt recommend goin to bestbuy or circuit city for amp kits as they are 110$ and widely over priced, for my old accord i had a 18$ kit i used for my speakers and it held up the job. good luck

The wagon's have a compartment on the pass side. Cut a hole in that and mount a 6x9 in it. Youll have 2 6x9's in the back.

                    I wouldn't connect both wires... I'm not a moron. ¬_¬

I would actually like to take two independent L-R signals and combine it to a single mono signal. I do it in my studio using various Y-cables etc, but it's all line-level power. I don't know car audio wiring too well.

And I would get an amp for my normal speakers, not subs. A couple of my friends wired up small power-amps to their car audio systems (w/o a sub) and it really cleaned up their sound at higher volumes.

It wouldn't be worth it, just pick a channel and hook the speaker up. You probably won't notice the difference anyway.

You're probably right, but I am an audio engineer and even if something "sounds ok," I would still know that I'm only getting half the signal.

But I'll most likely just settle and do the left side

nice to see another wagon owner around here
why not go oem with an inline converter for an amp?
and for a mp3 player you can get a FM tuner really cheap
