ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i usually go to onlinecarstereo.com some things cost the same as the store while others are way cheaper. plus spend over 100 and you get free shipping. i got my amp on there brand new for 75 dollars less than if i had gotten it in the store.Originally posted by JoshM View PostAmazon.com has great prices.

You may want to look around on hookedontronics.com They have some decent prices on stuff sometimes and free shipping on pretty much all of their subs. Personally I would pass on buying Dual brand anything but that's just me. You can normally find kicker on sale where you can buy one get one or something similar. I've put a few of the subs through hell and they just kept on going.

Yeah we had a store called CKR in Alabama that i used to get my stuff from. They almost always had sales on Kicker where it was buy one get one or buy one and get the second one for half off. Sometimes they would even throw in a box for free. The box was pre-fab but it was ported and did it's job for the time being until I could get a better one made. I tried to post a link to their page but it's not wanting to work. Just google ckr and it'll show it. Image Dynamics used to make some good subs too. They were made to fit in small enclosures and hit pretty hard. Hell they put two 12's behind the seat of a regular cab Ford Ranger. Crystal, Alphasonik, and Autotek are worth looking into also. I haven't heard the Crystal or Alphasonik speakers in person but i've heard nothing but good things about them. Autotek used to have an SS series 12 that a friend of mine had. He had two of the SS 12's in a ported box and they beat the shit out of me. They make good amps too from what i've seen.

X2. Never heard anything that sounded all that good coming from any of their stuff.Originally posted by CustomLowz View PostDual brand = CRAP!
Now if we are talking about dual (as in two) 10", it's all personal choice. If you are looking for some added thump just go with a single 12" ported.
My personal tastes, go with good components and eliminate the need for huge subs... but that's just me.

1 component in the kick panels, 1 in the doors, and 1 12 in a ported box is pretty much what i'm going for. I used to have a 15 and had a few sets 10's. The 15 was great but I need my trunk for more than just a big ass box and amps. The 10's were alright but I always kept wanting more out of them. Like someone else said, whatever you do buy quality stuff and shop around before you make any final decisions. My friend used to get cheaper stuff and by the time he was on his 3rd set of 12's my two beat up Kickers with holes in the surround were still pounding the shit out of my car.
