ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Sub not fireing, amp seems fine. Whats wrong?

Putting my sub woofer back in the car today, but i cant get it too fire. Checked all my connections and used a mulit tester to see if there was power getting to the amp. Power is getting to the amp fine, and the woofer coil read at 4.2 ohms.
Looked at the manuals and couldn't figure it out.
tryed two diferent input/output setups. Rear out and the sub cord things.

    Its only one 10in sub.

Here are my head unit and amp manuals in online pdf format if it will help.

Did a search and only found one thread related to the problem, but it was posted in January, and never really revised, so i thought i'd ask again for myself.

And your sure the speaker outputs on the amp work? Is the amp getting a signal from the head unit? bad rca's? is the gain on the amp turned up?

judging by your manual for your deck you have a sub output RCA set. Run your RCAs from that to the rear inputs of your amp. If your running just the rear channels.

Make sure your gain is set no higher than 3/4 and then adjust your settings to your liking.

Hook your multimeter to the speaker out puts and see if there is any voltage. Not 100% sure on that.

you dont use a voltage setting you use a wattage setting. most multi meters dont have that setting though.

Got it worked out. essentually i saw something in the manual about the protect light. seems that if the remote wire isn't getting enough juice it wont turn on the amp. got that wired into the harness on a wire labeled REM 3a max or something like that instead of the wire i had it on. sub works, now got to work with the setting to actuall turn down the levels on the sub. over powering the mid range tones, like everything is bumping loud.

You can use the voltage setting but it won't give a consistent reading with music. You would have to play sine waves for that.
