Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Sonik is correct. What are you trying to accomplish. If it is for bass, then how much bass. Personally, I love deep, loud bass. I have 1000 watt rms, Hifonics Brutus with 2 10' JL Audio w6v2 in a sealed box. I love the way it sounds. And if you are like me, go with the 1000/1 JL amp. In the near future I too plan on upgrading to the JL amp.Originally posted by sonikaccord View PostThat's kind of vague. How much power do you need? How many subs and what subs are you running?Last edited by robert@bisimoto; 11-23-2009, 09:02 PM.Bisimoto Engineering

Old school Rockford amps are very good amps, JL Audio, are good amps too. Sony Xplod is crap from walmart.
Any amp that you'll buy will have to be based off the speakers for best performance.
I've used a crappy cheap amp, with cheap speakers and it can sound good, as long as its set up right.
Comes down to your budget, and how much room you want to take up.

Don't like...all amps have that bass controller? Even a lot of 4 channel amps I've seen do. Also, an Audiocontrol Epicenter>amp's bass control.
There's tons of amps you could go with, idk what to say.
And yes, Planet Audio is still around. They're owned by Boss Audio now though, so they're not as good as they were

Ah, that's dissappointingOriginally posted by Sarthos View PostAnd yes, Planet Audio is still around. They're owned by Boss Audio now though, so they're not as good as they were
They had some decent products back in the day. They weren't nearly as big of a name as most, but they could bump cleanly. It's sad that Boss owns them now lol

you dont need a ton power to produce clear loud bass. is your car a 2dr/4dr or wagon? trunks produce a different type of bass versus a hatch. unless you spend alot of money on a amp high wattage amps generally have more distortion, which over a period of time will kill your voicecoils. had it happen 6 punches in less than one summer switched to lower powered more reputable amp and never had a problem and it was twice as clear. just something to think about its not just wattage its also clarity.
