Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

What made you even think to unplug the rear speakers when your battery was draining? I mean I know that when the battery drains on my car the first thing I think of is to unplug the rear speakers. Oh, and when it runs out of gas I remove the passenger's seat... There's some missing information here.

What made me think it was the speakers was because this car used to be wired for Subs and everything. When i bought it , it didnt come with any of that, just the radio and front speakers. the rear speakers were there but i noticed the wires were cut. so i reconnected the wires not having any idea, and they worked just fine. after that my battery started draining when i left it sitting. so i unhooked it and it didn't drain my battery at all. so im trying to figure out how i can have them hooked up, without having to plug them in and out everytime i shut off my car.

There are better ways to tell him to explain it clearer.

It's obviously a wiring issue, Either a live wire, or a bad ground. You are going to have to trace it unfortunately. In the end it will be worth it. Let me know a little more about your wiring. I can be of some help.

Speakers can't drain power by just being connected by themselves. Check your head unit wiring and check your head unit too.

What happens when you just connect the speaker wires together( with the hu off of course)? Does it still drain the battery or not?

No matter what i connect it to, on or off, it still drains my battery.

I'm really confused...I'm thinking the rear speakers are 100% unrelated and your battery is junk.

If your speakers are draining power, it requires them to actually see power passed through them. Which should make noise. The only thing I can think of that would do what you're talking about would be if you wired the speakers like directly to your battery...but that wouldn't work. And the stereo DOES turn off right?

You are sort of incorrect in your assertions about the speakers making noise. Speakers use an AC input to generate the proper frequencies. I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess that a straight DC input would just pull the cone to one stationary position.

                          Correct. That's exactly what happens.

True, the AC current makes it move back and forth. But the DC current (unless in very small amounts) may be causing the cone to bottom out all the time if it pulls the cone down from the "factory" position.

It sounds like the speakers are connected to something other than the speaker output of a radio or amp. When you are attaching the wires to the speaker you are completing some circuit through the voice coil.

I wonder if you removed wires from the speaker and connected them together, would you get the same result?

You really need to trace the wires back to the dash to see how they wired and what their function is.
