ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    CB Radio

I ran a brief search with a few prompts but turned up nothing, so I'll ask here and see if anyone remembers anything. Has anyone installed a CB radio in their car? I was thinking about unplugging the hole from my antenna (I internalized the antenna) and putting in a smaller whip antenna so I could communicate with other people in my group on long drives and have some forewarning about police traps. I've had Cb radios before but I'm just wondering what this little community has done with them

      ^^Damn it Mike!

Send a PM to HappyGilmore or check out his members ride thread. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=135568

He was talking about putting together a DIY for CB in a CB. Not sure if anything has become of it, I'm not around this site often enough anymore to keep up.

well the kind of crazy thing I was thinking about doing was putting a white 4 foot whip antenna out the normal antenna spot but I'm not sure how that will look and if it will require additional support inside trunk

you would be better off getting a mag mount rather then trying to do that..
you need to keep in mind that the ant and radio need a swr match of at max 1.5..
what kind of radio are you gonna run is it tuned or stock. a lil wil can be had for around 50 bucks or so

I'm planning on running the seperate antenna and cb antenna, my brother is a tech and can help me with all the wires, I'm just wondering what peoples opinions are about looks. I'm getting car redone in white but will a 4' antenna sticking straight up look trashy? and will having cb and radio antenna's on same side of car cause interference?

When I got my cb9 it had been used as a courier vehicle, and it had what I haven't figured out yet, it was either a CB radio setup or a car phone setup in it. Kinda weird, I looked up one day and saw a microphone by my visor. Eventually pulled everything out, an antenna, some kinda brain box, a long cord that looked like an ethernet cable, a microphone, power and ground wires, etc.

This just had a small antenna that was held on by some kinda double sided tape to the outside of the rear driver's side window. And another piece that was installed to the inside of the window right behind the antenna. Not sure how exactly it worked, somehow sent the signal through the glass I guess.

don't worry, I won't try and buy anything from anybody until I'm not a noob. Against the rules and all. Anyways I intend to buy a very specific antenna, like the ones on my brothers old truck

I wasn't intending to sell anyhow I was gonna tell you how I have mine mounted and what you need for it to work the best. Hence the reason why I need to do the DIY.
