ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Are you high? Wanna share? I think you got some good stuff there.....is it the boose your running? Mabe an lil much?.....ok...so your aware subs run in and 180 out they work eather way...and. Faceing each other they arnt close enjugh to effect each other. And some subs spl dubble stack and tripple stack. Magnets to be capable to handle more power and more excurshon also....the caps dont have magnets......one other thing subs have positive pull and negitive pull when the coils ie copper are enerjized. Thats what makes the sub move in and out it creates vibration this act makes the cone area move which makes the air molicules compress and depress ie makeing sound waves...im on my phone so its hard to compleately explain......also sorry for the crappy spelling...hears an pick of the inside of an woofer so you can see what your saying isnt possible.....

Yes this is an spl sub

Doing what your talking about lining the subs up so both subs are in the same placement will improve dbs buy. 5 points due to placement this is true however it wont distroy its self over that....distortion is what kills speakers..... Just like moving your box around the car to get good placement can improve dbs however placement of and box wont kill an sub what your talking about is sound cansalation where sound waves hit each other this is how you lose sound it has no effect on the sub wont blow them just isnt as loud due to loss of sound or frequancy

It will destroy itself over time due to the resistance, but that's just like playin your subs any other time. but im saying, it causes more resistance against each magnet, The magnet is what will pull the speaker back, so when one Tone hits, it can make the other sub go towards the other magnet.

Resistance is what causes the speaker to push and pull every speaker dose this regardless of position becuse every magnet has an positive and negitive pull the pull that goes around the coil ie copper is in the negitive pull its goes around the coil it keeps the speaker in place when you put power to the coil it creates vibration which makes the speaker move without vibration you have no sound. So what your saying is basicly an speaker dosnt work....... The only time an woofer goes bad is when it gets distortion or clips ie woofer shake or when the sub over extends it ability to go out.... Distortion causes the woofer to go back and forth an is how the coil gets distroyed which is when it goes bad.....
What your saying isnt possible period the positive pulls ie outside of the magnets will push away from each other and will never have any effect to the coil period.....becuse the positive pull from the other speaker cant ever reach the negitive pull around the coil!! Didnt i already explain this?

Ok now I know what you're trying to say...I think. You're saying two or more subs that share the same airspace in an enclosure will destroy themselves? Not at all...Unless you're feeding them tons of power and they are out of phase with each other. They'll bottom out and kaplode.

SPLCB7 pretty much cleared it up though. Just in case you need more explanation

The field inside the gap of the magnet is so strong that any other magnetic fields around it is negligible. A magnet from one sub can't affect the magnet of another sub. If it does, it's really not worth paying attention to. You could add a bucking magnet and cancel out the external field almost completely.

Subs can't destroy themselves electrically under "normal" playing conditions. Mechanically they can wear down over time and the suspension parts can deteriorate and stuff but age+movement wears out alot of things. Also the suspension (including the air in the box) is just as if not more important than the magnet at controlling the sub.

Okay, so let me explain this, if you had a system loud enough to blow only your top speakers on the head rest panel in the back seat. That subs magnet is pulling so much that it makes the component/mid/highs speaker will pull in instead of pushing out. it works the same way with 2 subs next to each other with the emblems facing the same way. So the terminals in the back shouldnt be lined up.

The only way an sub plays in is if you set the phase 180 out...you seem to not understand that an subs movement is only caused bye the electricity hitting the coil making it shake the magnets only hold the coil in place.....the bigger the magnet the more power you can run through the sub becuse of its ability to hold the speaker in place.... Also one speaker cant make an other speaker phase diffrently..... Its the power you put through the speaker that makes it phase diffrently so an 180 phase sub is simply the positive going to the neg and the neg going to the pos....so if you speakers are out of phase there hooked up wrong or you did it to acheave an diff sound....honistly i dont really know what your trying to say....it seems your in the right path just have your facts mixed up

Mabe this is where your trying to go with this prossess your trying to explain...with the termanals close to each other if your running 10k to each sub and there close to each other this is where the posibility of electricity could jump from one termanal to the other which is where you gain the. 5 db gain from lining them up diffrently. now with that in thought you might be able to say how you line them up in an box can effect how they react....however it wont cause your subs to blow becuse there never will be an big enjugh draw between the two to change the ohms on the sub and make them clip.....so lining them up can make an diff ie i said . 5db but still cant blow out your subs....mabe this is where you were trying to go idk its an guess....

Well lets starts with the deck speakers. The sub pressurizes the trunk so the deck speakers act as mini passive radiators. This is due to air being transferred from the cone to the atmosphere(trunk) not the magnet. When the sub pushes, the speakers will be pushed, when it pulls the speakers will be pulled. Simple as that.

Two subs in the same box, with shared airspace, with the same polarity just cuts the box volume in half.

Great example. Bass is all about moving tons of air.
Competing for SPL is a science too. Anyone can throw a sub in a box and feed power to it.

EDIT: lol at the highest rated comment in the vid

No, they won't blow right away. It's over a period of time. it's like wearing down your speaker coil x2.
And yes, Lining them up does make the difference.

Negative. It's just not possible. Even "lining" them up won't make a difference in longevity.

you missed the part where i said it wont blow your subs becuse there will never be an big enjugh ark between the two to drop down your ohms and cause clipping....no offence but you dont read everything short atten span...
