ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Suggestion for Subs

My set up is 4 pioneer speakers and Pioneer DEH-3300UB
    I have a capacitor and a mb quart raa2400 800 watts
Not really good at audio and I just want some good subs that wont destroy my alternator and stuff like that, Thanks

It's hundreds of possible subs you can use/buy.
You have a good amp 800w at 4 ohms.
Btw subwoofers don't kill electrical, big and/or inefficient amps do.
Look for a sub within 500w-1000w range, in your budget that looks good to you and post back.

I would get a Dayton 12" Hight Output

They sell them exclusively on Parts Express

well there are tons of options, what is your price range?
I have had good luck with looking on craigslist for a sub in a box, then researching what i would potentially buy to make sure it fits my needs.

800 watts is peak i think for amplifier ... normally you shoud be ok with a 400WRMS Subwoofer.. for size, if you lister more rock/Metal the best is a 10 inch. if you listen more rap and Techno, the best is a 12 inch.. any reputable brand can be ok, like pioneer, clarion,Alpine,Mtx... stay away of sony EXPLOD aka Sony **explode and visonik subwoofer.. they are shit!

Its easy to say.. i have 5000 watts subwoofer, and this woofer is the best... the only thing you can see if the subwoofer is a real bomb, simply look at the voice coil size... if he is big like a finger, dont waste your time with this..

i have already see someone with a 1500 watts amplifier with only 2x 20 amp fuse, its really easy to play with number in these day.. take your time before choose a flashy subwoofer with poor quality and fake Watts..

Also look for a dual voice coil, more accurate & more powerful!

It's 800 wrms for that amp.
              Sub size isn't genre specific.
Dual voice coil just gives more wiring options.

Just trying to clean some stuff up for the OP.

Hey dude... dual voice coil is not only more wiring option, dual voice coil is like 2 subwoofer in one, I speak no arms in the air, I had previously, and I install systems, if you bridge, you not need more wire, simply put negative with the negative and put 2 positive and out the box with 1 neg & 1 positive.., and yes this is a big difference, you can make 2 ohm with a 4 ohm subwoofer if bridged, and the 12 inch reaction is more slowly because this is bigger than 10 inch, both play good, but 10 inch is better with fast beat than 12 inch... for give you an idea... try to play hard metal with a 15 inch.. not sure you will get perfect bass.. just try you will be able to see! the best still a 10 inch.

but anyway .. the goal is not a debate about using a subwoofer!

that's exactly what I mean by wiring options. Sorry if I didn't describe it right.

The size issue has been discussed many times and has been proven false. I will try to find the white papers on it. Basically it's all about the inductance that affects "speed" of a sub.

I don't want the op to limit his options because of genre.

as far as getting loud its all about how the box is tuned. i have a audioque 10 in a ported box that is tuned to 39hz, the guy who built the box and re-coned my sub said those subs like the higher frequencies better...

                      i agree with you!

an average subwoofer with good box is better than a good subwoofer with a piece of crap of box!
