ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    bass machine

i have a soundstream bx-20z bass machine. i got it for the music i listen to the doesn't really have any bass to give it a little extra umph.
My question is how can i wire it so i don't have it wired together to my amp cuz i tried that and amp would eventually go to protect mode. so thats a no go.
by wiring i mean the battery, ground, and remote.

Then why the hell would you hook the power up to the amp? It should have its own connections, just wire it up like any other audio equipment.

ok so run a cable from the battery to the unit. can i get away with using the remote from the amp so it will turn off when the amp is off?

sorry guys ive never wired up multiple audio equipment.

NEVER, EVER, wire another audio component to the amp EVER! Yeah just run it like the amp with its own cables, and just tie into the remote wire from the deck. I dont think you will need a relay for it, I doubt the Bass machine will draw too much power from the remote turn on.

I can promise you it will be fine if you power it by itself.

I think the wiring is pretty getto... but im going to venture to say re wiring your gear wont solve the amp going into protect when its hooked up... that unit i think ups you voltige going in to your amp and if your using that before the amp you need to turn your amps gain all the way down so you dont fry your amp thats why its going into protect not the way its wired.....

Although it's messy, I have to agree that that mess of wires isn't causing your problem. I could draw a picture of how your wiring is the exact same as using a distribution block, but to some people facts are meaningless.

So, first thing I have to ask is what kinda amp is that, what kinda speaker(s) does it have, and what resistance are they being run at?

Next, is that mounted to the trunk floor or is it on the back of the seat?

Lastly, where does the ground wire run to?

I can tell that, but I can't tell what model, whether it's 2 or 4 channel, or what impedance it's stable to.

                          Its a kicker amp 750w rms x 1 at 2 ohms / 375 rms x1 at 4ohms
Wired parallel to two Kenwood 12" subs 400rms each

The amp has 4g ground and battery cable.
how can I figure out the resistance im running?

The amp is on the back of the seat
and it grounded to one of the rear seat brackets
